WVIZ Channel 25 Ideastream Cleveland, Ohio Station Identifications Compilation (1973-present)

WVIZ was the first PBS station I grew up with. It was there for me when I was a kid, watching Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, the Electric Company, Carl Sagan's Cosmos, and the occasional Nova or National Geographic Special, and it's there for me now as an adult for American Experience, Frontline, and the occasional drama on Masterpiece. Whenever I hear that Ideastream sound before a show starts, I feel good. And if you live in the Cleveland area, so should you.

THIS and PBS 45&49/Western Reserve PBS were my main childhood PBS stations! I also grew up with WEDU & WPBS-TV when I lived in those areas in childhood.

This brings back memories without basic cable back in mid late 90s/early 00s/mid 00s/late 00s/early 10s mid 10s especially being born in 96 growing up watching PBS in Cleveland and feeling that vibes watching NOVA, Dragon Tales, Mister Rogers Neighborhood, Arthur i growed up way too fast but thats life and people can’t stay young forever.

By the way, another PBS station that most of us can receive in the Cleveland area, WEAO channel 49, which serves Akron and Kent, Ohio and its sister station, WNEO channel 45, which is based in Alliance and serves Youngstown, Ohio, are marking their 50th anniversary this year.
