My great uncle is in this cemetery , Private Henry Shipley 5th row from the front and 6th along. He was only 18 years old and died on the 22 of august 1944 fighting with the Dorsetshire regament .

Indeed, I am an American and cannot even begin to fathom the hell the Brits endured during the constant bombing from Germany in WW2. Of course having a man such as Winston Churchill certainly helped. To many, he was the glue that held the British people together during that time.
