These videos are wonderful - they're not just about history - but mainly the love of a father for his children and them of him. I have watched the story of your family outings for a long time and can only imagine how wonderful a family you are off camera and how amazing it must be for the three of you to get out and about, not only doing historical videos but all the other lovely things you must get up to. Thank you for letting us into your lives.

Hey EE & HH. Made my day you did. Excellent job on the plane models. Gorgeous 💞 scenery. Trenches are still in pretty good shape. The lookout position was massive. The tunnel system would have taken them a lot of time to dig and build. Was something to see the original connectors. Wouldn't that huge defensive system be something in it's original state, with the mounted guns in place. Thanks for taking us there EE & HH. Stay safe and keep smiling😊❤.

That tunnel system was very cool. Finding that gun wagon in the brush was pretty neat, you rarely come across those things once they have been removed from the gun position. I bet most have been scrapped over the years. That 10.5 cm gun position was just a beautiful spot to locate a gun. The tunnel to the position was amazing. The island held some intriguing positions, well located for shelling of vessels and now such beautiful positions for viewing the sites! Many thanks to you both and especially to EE for using his amazing talent to help you with the exploring and the chores necessary to make your adventures such a success! Thank you both for taking us along with you! Stay safe and stay well all!!

Well, I would take being stationed there. What a view around the place. It is a shame that some of these sites are not at least cleaned to original standards. That was one heck of a hole they blasted for a barrack. First time we have seen cable splice connector. A shame it is rotting away. This part of the road trip is phenomenal. EE stop growing so you can get into the small places 😁. You are getting better at this even if you have to fight the mosquitos. My friend these 2 videos are great, hoping the rest of the trip was this spectacular. Both of you stay safe and well.

Thank you for another fascinating video from this island. It's probably one of the best examples of the dichotomy between the natural beauty of this place and the man-made remnants of destructive power. I hope you and EE were not bitten too badly by those vile insects as their bites are so itchy and irritating. The RAF's Mosquito (known as the Wooden Wonder) had a different kind of bite! And if we see you and EE with glowing-in-the-dark teeth, then we will know that you've used that radioactive toothpaste! Looking forward to the next video.

Yes, a MASSIVE THANKS to EE for being there to kick his Dad's butt when the event calls for it. You are a little Trooper EE. Did you put together the plane models? Can't seem to wrap my head around the German soldier's radioactive toothpaste. Did you take some of the German barbed wire again? That plant did look like cotton EE. It is called Cotton Grass (Eriophorum Angustifolium). Pretty cool. The tunnel system was a good size. Well set up with the ammunition pockets and power supply. They thought of everything. The firing control bunker was a rare sight also. Thank you for taking us inside the tunnel and bunker. Would be somethig to see the 20mm FLAK guns still mounted on the pedestals. You did it again HH, another spectacular WW2 site that you shared with us. Another dream place to knock off your bucket list. Thank you EE and HH. Thoroughly enjoyed. You deserve a big love.

What an amazingly spectacular, and beautiful, location. You can clearly see why the Germans fortified that little island. It is so central to the whole area. And just incredible seeing, not only the swivel table that the guns sat on, but also the dollies that their gun trails rested on, still there. Just waiting for the guns to return. That was such a rare thing to see. Truly an fascinating place to explore, and full of interesting creations, like that concrete tunnel, and that, very basic, firing control bunker. For such a small isolated spot, that island holds some amazing pieces of history. Thank you both for showing us this truly unique place, and, for braving the mosquitos. Not one of my favourite creatures in the world. Cheers to you both!

I absolutely love all your videos and have been subscribed since your first video. Massive thanks for all you do, but I have a question that I'm a bit perplexed over. Why in all your videos have you never once used the term Nazi? Very curious as to why not, thanks and looking forward to your next adventure.

Perhaps they left barbed there because visitors could if they wanted to take a small piece of wire as a souvenir. Many thanks, Eagle eyes 👀 for supporting you dad.

What an exceptional find. This is such a beautiful place. Too bad it was blasted, and dug up, and such ugly structures constructed. The life of a soldier here must have been nothing but build with rock, build among rocks, dig into rocks, tunnel here, there and everywhere. All the while, always watching the sea for the enemy! Unbelievable efforts.
