I can understand the confusion because they wrestle similar styles, but that's only because El Generico was Sami's mentor. Sami Zayn wrestles in El Generico's honor, as he's retired now and teaching orphans in Mexico.

Yeah I turned this off about midway through. The answer quality was all over the place. Saying that ‘Sami’ beat ‘Gunther’ for a title in Germany when that was neither of their names at the time, but then saying that the Bobby Lashley answer that was wrong was because he fought Simon Dean and not ‘Hollywood Nova’? These were not fact or quality checked at all and made this a very painful quiz to watch.

We are only using Sami and Gunther cause that’s how most people know them as and we are just talking about their careers as a whole (not just in wwe). I know people like to make the silly joke that Sami and El Generico are 2 different people which I’m sick of that joke because at the end of the day they are the same person. Like your acting like they are completely different people. Sami beat Gunther in Germany that is a fact. Idk why that’s such a problem as if it’s not a fact. There was no consistency from question to question or quality control. Doing 2 truths and 1 lie by changing one minute detail about an otherwise correctual statement is lazy. The answer was almost always the option with numbers involved.

I don’t see the big deal in counting that as “Sami beating Gunther”. They are literally the same people at the end of the day so to make a big deal about that makes no sense. That’s like getting mad because someone had a different hair color in a different promotion. It’s just silly. This isn’t in WWE where they don’t really take into account anything that happens outside of WWE. We are talking about wrestling in general and we are talking about both of Sami and Gunther’s careers in general no matter what promotion they were in before or what they went by before. Sami beat Gunther Germany. That’s just the truth.

The Lashley ones I knew. He talked about the bank robbery when he was on Broken Skull Sessions. His Wikipedia page says that his first name was “Blaster Lashley”. And I remember seeing his debut against Simon Dean on Smackdown. His first PPV match was also against Simon Dean at No Mercy in 2005 (incidentally, also Eddie Guerrero’s last PPV), and I was in house for that one.

Back in 2003 Bobby Lashley was training for a spot in the 2004 Athena games. One day he went to the bank to make a deposit and a robbery went down and he jumped to the ground to take cover from the bullets. After everything was over he started helping people up and noticed the bursa (a fluid-filled sac that helps reduce friction in joints) in his knee was inflamed. He got surgery to fix it, but then had to get another surgery months after that due to an infection. After that he knew he wouldn’t be able to go to the Olympic trials.
