What made the Booker T vs HHH feud all the worst was the fact that in the end HHH won. After all that the he just, wins the match and gets what he wanted and Booker was left to slide down the card. Some may argue that's realistic as in real life racists often don't face any real consequences for their actions but it's a story, you can write it however you want and THAT'S what they went with?

I totally agree and you know that whoever HHH wrestled then, he was going to win. That was during the time where Vince allowed HHH to hog up all the TV time and main events. HHH made a stupid statement to Booker T anyway because wrestling is suppose to be entertaining. He thinks that going to the ring and spitting water made him special. It was a reason he wanted Flair around too. Famous for nothing!! He beat Sting for the same reason. HHH will never be in my top 20 of all time. He just gets a pacifier with Vince's name on it. The only good part is we already know how he feels about black people.

It is telling that with the talent available, WWE found excuses to never push wrestlers fans liked regardless of race, gender, or ethnicity. Wrestling used to be a reflection on society, the good and the bad. That's why you need heels and babyfaces. In performance art you don't. This video and the main comment is forgetting that a lot of wrestlers pretend to be bad. Jinder telling Nakamura Japanese always “*rook* the same” was an actual heel racism boo moment and it sucked. We don’t need heels to be racist for them to be bad people. It’s not “heels can’t be heels” it’s them making the right decision to not cross a line and potentially be seen as making/sanctioning a needless racist statement. The greatest heels of all time weren’t great heels because of racism?? Why do you want heels to be racist of all things anyway? Vince saying the n word on national TV, “People like Booker T don’t get to be champion”, JBL at the Mexican border chasing illegals, “You all ‘rook’ the same” said to Shinsuke, Kamala being the only wwf legend that had to pay his own bills and died broke. You must know a lot about me to say “Guys like me” Black men that know black history? Or black men that don’t try to make racism where it isn’t? Idiots like you that ignore what’s actually happening in the company and the fact that the only two black wrestlers to be booked strong in the past 2 years don’t actually win anything meaningful (Lashley) or ended up getting jobbed out (Kofi). Go comment ignorance somewhere else.

Excellent video work and timeline. Though you connected most of the dots, you missed one terribly glaring incident in this video but covered in previous videos. The Muhammad Hassan and Daivari 2005 London bombers incident. A wrestler got squashed by the brazen arrogance of the WWE management. I'm glad that the stuff with The Junkyard Dog was mentioned, I was aiming to push back at you calling his entrance theme "Grab Them Cakes" an early form of gangsta rap. Having thought about it, that was definitely a form of it as well misogynist. Especially for a man with a young daughter during that time. Another great observation on this part was he did sell as much merchandise but one could arguably say more merchandise than Hulk Hogan did during that era. But The Junkyard Dog was reduced to two ugly stereotypes. Wearing a chain around his neck like a slave (or a dog) all while shucking and jiving around the ring. Two stereotypes with an unmistakable oxymoron thrown in. You had Roddy Piper's often racist remarks and the 1990 WrestleMania "half blackface/body" incident. In buttoning this up, there was a lot of stuff that unfortunately continued into the modern day company with Jordan Myles and recently Lio Rush.

This was a missed opportunity to upload on 4th of July. I have stated that WWE is misogynistic and racist as an institution. I have respect for the wrestlers who have or had stories about their experience and the questionable policies, rules, behaviors, scripts, and lockeroom norms. Remember, we had someone as beloved like Eddie Guerrero play a sick stereotype that it was nothing but a comedy act that got over and made Eddie much more relatable as a person as a workhorse and good at the mic than a lier, cheater, and stealer. I can't even begin to mention the humiliation Chavo Guerrero had to go through to get air time and play Kerwin White. Or when We the People with gimmick went from Cesaro and Jack Swagger to Jack and Zeb Colter anti-Mexican (immigrant) rhetoric. Mind you someone like Alberto Del Rio had a visa to work in the county and yet was treated like a second class person and less for being Mexican under We The People. That hits home that you could be you yet WWE will do whatever they can to put you and your identity down. I wonder how long it will take for Andrade Cien Almas to get the paternalism treatment despite being engage to Charlotte Flair.

Thankfully those thing seem to be changing, in wrestling and in the world overall, but there is obviously still a long way to go. The HHH/Booker T angle was ridiculous, and the worst part was that they had Booker T LOSE and the racist character win. Yeah. For every terrible stereotype of a minority there were about 3 horrendously awful stereotypes of white cultures... including insane stereotypes of AMERICANS...The Brooklyn Brawler, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Sgt Slaughter, Hillbilly Jim, The Moon Dogs (I think is their name), The Bush Whackers, The Berzerker, The Mounty, Big Boss Man, The Reugou (sp?) Brothers, ANY weird Texan wrestler (Outlaw Ron Bass I think his name is, would be one), Brother Love (who still gives me nightmares), The Brood, Roddy Piper, Million Dollar Man, The Duke of Dorchester, The Nasty Boys, Smash and Mosh, Henry O Godwin, Raven, and that is just touching the surface. So for me, the stereotyping was just standard. I think wrestling, especially back in the day, was kind of a circus-sports inspired stunt show that shows extreme muscle bound and athletic characters and caricatures doing an athletics show spectacular. The racism that should really be talked about is the back stage stuff for sure but a lot of that is a lot of "he said they said" and rumors. Dont get me wrong, we know a good chunk of it is real, but those are horrible individuals and that includes Vince. Again, the stereotyping done in wrestling is really not racist, or, if it is in your eyes, they were racist to pretty much every race in existence. Or... you except it for what it is... a show making things seem larger and more colorful and more ridiculous than real life. I have watched every weekly show and pay-per-view since 1985... There were good representations of almost every race as there were bad representations of every race in wrestling and one point or another. I could even debate with these guys the talent pool during the 80s and 90s to point out the complaints of who had the title and when. I mean, Pedro Morales was the 4th WWF champion back in ancient times and Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson were the first African American tag team champs in history... I would be critical of the available talent pools at the various times in the WWF first before criticizing the WWF as a whole. Did you really think Bad News Brown, Zeus, or Koko B. Ware could pull in a crowd and were as talented in the ring as Tito Santana, Ricky Stramboat, Haku, Jimmy Snuka. I think the strongest African American wrestlers were Rocky Johnsom, Tony Atlas, and Junkyard Dog had a good following. Then a huge weak lineup till MAAAAYBE Mable as Virgil was a terrible wrestler and Mable was a behemoth of a man. Then who... the Rock. Though Booker T was legit bit he was not in the WWE until tje death of WCW. It's a hard discussion to have and hard to pinpoint the issue. But I do think the WWF during the 80s and 90s just had either terrible highering problems or the pool of good wrestlers was just poor.

Eddie gimmick was a heel who got bad traits over lying cheating and stealing are negative in every culture and saying that Eddie was racist for doing is can racist because you are projecting his race with way he lie cheats and steal but Eddie was also seen as smart as he outsmarted Kurt and jbl multiple and the announcer never praised heel Eddie as good thing when he did those things and the people he did it too when was a babyface was seen as people who deserve it or as they were heels like Kurt and jbl also Eddie was supposed to be the heel Hispanic but he got over a babyface and Rey was the babyface Hispanic if you really looking for racist Hispanic gimmick luncha house party is why more racist with that stupid piñata. Then anything Eddie or Rey ever done most history fans what Rey to form a heel Hispanic gimme with anderade and beat up the other none Hispanic wrestlers any way also Hispanic don’t like other racist telling them that they should think something is racist against them if they don’t and see people who do as racist

Aew is nothing good that’s why it averages a 0.6

What do you mean by attitude era..? The era as a whole or the portion of it that was good, because there would be many criticisms from crybabies who are too weak if stuff that happened then happened nowadays

Aew is way more entertaining then wwe at the moment Vince needs to let triple h take over with his wife cause he is running the company down and wasting certain wrestling talent fact or put this another way how many wwe wrestlers want to quit for aew now ???

Well seems to me you could've done this before not jump on the bandwagon. The Star Wars thing is a bit silly imo. Overall you handled a touchy subject well. They has been all sorts of stereo types in WWE like The Godwin's, Hillbilly Jim etc. So that could be considered a bit dodgy too. Yes there has been an issue of race in WWE but times are changing. What flew in the 70's or 80's wouldn't fly in the 90's and what flew in the 90's won't fly today. The evil thing was actually Taka and Funaki's idea. I just feel to throw that in. Some gimmicks over the years have been truly terrible for sure and backstage behavior has been a problem. Hopefully guys like Ron Simmons, Mark Henry, Kofi etc have made a huge impact and are a sign of things to come. Kofi has shown the WWE runners that race shouldn't be a factor and I don't know if Kofi even knows the impact that will make over the next few years. One beautiful day all this won't matter hopefully as people become more open minded and accept each other. I do think WWE has come fairly far, the longest running tag champs ever are the New Day, We had Kofi as the top guy, we have serious women's wrestling not bra and panties nonsense. Sure it isn't perfect but it is definitely getting better. We have had black, Mexican, Samoan and an Irish champions. Japanese in the Women's division. I've said some negatives and positives all is hopefully constructive. I've watched wrestling from a child to adulthood, old tapes before my time and have seen how wrestling has evolved. I have my hero's ranging from Taker and Austin to Ron Simmons and Booker T. For me it always was about charisma and talent and that is how it should be. Hopefully one day that will be all that matters. Sorry for such a long comment and well done on how popular you've become and trying to address things.

As someone whose fandom ended sometime well after the attitude era (starting at age 6), what I always saw and knew in later years was that alot of participation by alot of minority talent in certain angles and storylines likely wasn't turned down because they still chose those lucrative contracts

Thanks for this. I’m not a wrestling fan and I’m not saying it should be banished. It’s hard though because it’s not a sport and is entertainment and there’s nowhere else entertainers who want to pretend to fight eachother and hit eachother with chairs can go. It’s hard to argue Vance isn’t racist with his actions and what he has allowed to happen as a owner

I never looked at WWE as a source that could inform me about an entire race and I’m not sure exactly who would
