I’m glad to finally see someone address the Asuka loss. I love Bianca and the title reign she has had, but I really feel like that loss killed whatever Hope Asuka had of becoming the monster she once was

You're not alone. I think Asuka should have won that match. The "EST" is "TRASH." the match wasn't that great. At no point did it feel like Asuka ever had an advantage over Bianca. It's like whatever Asuka tried or called in the ring Bianca overruled it or didn't go along with it. Everyone ooo'd and ahh'd when she picked Asuka up over the ropes and suplexed her with "her raw strength." I feel like that move set was supposed to be something Asuka was going to do to Bianca, but Bianca wasn't having it. She's lame and her gimmic is lame. There's no character growth whatsoever. Its been the same crap since she won the title. Asuka needed that win way more than Bianca

A few points I would like to address 1. Everyone keeps telling me Cody is getting a redemption arc,which doesn't make because not only was entire post WWE journey his redemption arc,Roman cheated to win. Cody shouldn't be seeking redemption,he should be seeking justice. 2. Throughout the entire Edge/Judgment Day storyline,Edge has won every match except for the I Quit match,which Finn needed the entire Judgment Day to help him get the win. Even before Dom joined Finn and Damian kept losing to Edge and The Mysterios. Finn absolutely needed the win at Mania,especially since they invoked The Demon And if they really wanted this to be a feel good moment for Edge,him and Beth shouldn't have won at Elimination Chamber

Lashley really should've had a match at Mania. The people behind the scenes owe him The Prime bottle in the Logan vs Seth match makes sense. It's Logan's brand, he's known to randomly do plugs for his stuff, and it made way for a fun table spot. The others could've been handled differently though

FACTS don’t forget about la knight they were seemingly doing this storyline were knight was mad he was not on the wrestlemaina 39 card which would have lead to knight vs lashley at wrestlemaina night 2 but fortunately that storyline got scrapped due to vince.

I agree Cody should have won, but I’m more baffled that balor and asuka lost. They both desperately needed to win, especially with both using their alter egos which are viewed as their more violent / crazy character. Both losing in my eyes has completely killed their characters. Especially with judgement day losing 2 out of 3 matches over mania weekend. I can’t help but wonder if they both would have won if put on night 1 which definitely felt more like triple h booking.

Edge has won every match in this feud with Judgment Day, except for ONE. It’s ridiculous. Asuka came back with all that hype at the Rumble. Only for them to cool her off completely.

Finn needed a clean win over Edge to help rebuild him as a potential top heel. When it comes to Asuka, as much as I agree that she needed this win,it was clear they didn't really care. Just a reminder they replayed the entirety of Seth's entrance from night 1 during night 2. There was half an hour between hell in a cell and the main event. Just toss a 10 minute Bobby Lashley vs LA knight there.

@@dvsmike That was the story of WHY SHE WENT AWAY IN THE FIRST PLACE. She was getting her ass kicked, she realized that something isn't working, she "went back to Japan" and came back more aggressive. That was the story of her departure to return as the murder clown. What now that you've killed that off? She becomes "double aggressive"? Wouldn't make a difference, it's too little too late, and with Vince back in creative, he won't nurture that storyline, or even agree to it. And it wasn't worth her losing at WrestleMania. Plus, she wouldn't win the title anyway now, because they've made it clear Bianca and Rhea are unifying them (God, WHY?). They wasted her because Triple H and Vince don't think she's talented. It's that simple.

I was at Dodger Stadium earlier on Wrestlemania Sunday and LA Knight sat directly in front of me. Noticed him glare at someone who walked by with a Wrestlemania shirt on. In that moment, I felt so effing bad for him.

For me the biggest mistake was the complete and utter lack of feel good moments on night 2. It went from multiple on night 1 to a mix between nothing matches, matches where no one wrestler was wanted over the other and then Cody v Roman where there was very clearly a winner the fans wanted and didn't get.

Yeah a winner the fans wanted for a wrestlemania moment instead of the bigger picture story wise. They want to split up the belts!! So what have Cody win then lose one of the belts in a couple months? How bad would that make Cody look! You have Roman hold it for 945 days then Cody loses it in a couple months. Also what has cody done since being back to actual earn those belts? What has he done to earn beating Roman after 3 years without losing? He wasn’t a creditable threat in the slightest! Sami was more of a threat and someone who earned it more then Cody Roman will lose at Summerslam to Cody but now Cody has time to show he can actual be a believable champ and earn it! Plus WWE can actual build a good story around it besides “my dad never won that belt story” I can name a bunch of superstars who could have used the same story.

And if they don’t, it will be one of the biggest mistakes they have ever made. And will have undermined the entire journey Cody went through to get back to WWE and show that he deserves to be the top star of either brand. Also if Vince is truly in gorilla position, I don’t have much faith in this story for Cody, because it’s Vince and this man changes his mind all the time especially while the show is live.

I honestly hope they have some good storyline’s coming up to build to Cody’s win at Summerslam. But all I can say is I feel like Cody’s moment at Summerslam will be like Daniel Bryan’s at wrestlemania. It’s funny because Daniels big missed moment was at Summerslam and had his massive moment at mania Cody’s big missed moment was at mania and will be at Summerslam I reckon they are doing the same thing just in reverse

Honestly, people should be more pissed about the ending to Belair/Asuka than anything else. Why? Because Bianca easily has the stalest title reign out of anyone right now, and that's primarily down to the fact that she's had zero character/story progression since her feud with Bayley ended. Yes, it does suck that Cody lost to Roman; the story felt like it was coming to an end and Roman cheating makes it hurt worse, but that story has been hot fire for YEARS now and I trust that it'll find to way to get even better still. For my money, Belair's title reign continuing is more damaging than Roman's title reign continuing. There's still a direction for Roman and Cody, Belair and most of the Women's division have nothing.

Titus may have been used poorly in the IC title match, but his insistence at pointing out how sweaty Otis was during the Fatal 4 Way was incredible. I want him and Booker T to call a PPV match at some point in the future just to see what would happen. It's also incredible that there were so many ads that Adam didn't even mention Russel Crowe babbling about nothing for five minutes before Hell in a Cell to promote his bad Christian horror movie.

Hot take: Asuka losing was the right choice. Belair is undefeated at Mania and the money match is CLEARLY her Vs Rhea next year. Not to mention this mania (outside Roman and Edge) was about putting over the future. I love Asuka, but honestly Bianca was the right call long term.

If Rhea Vs Bianca is the future Money match then have Bianca lose to Asuka at Mania and then draft her to Smackdown. Or if you insist on Asuka losing at least turn Bianca heel so there's something interesting happening

I think, if they wanted Cody to not take the titles off of Roman and afterwards seek "Redemption", have him win by DQ. Have Roman eventually openly cheat to take out Cody after Solo was ejected, Sami and KO still run off The Usos and hit their finishers on Reigns, and no one else coming to help he gets so frustrated he just hits Cody with a chair so much Heyman can't distract the ref enough. Cody Rhodes wins at Mania, Roman keeps the titles and stands taller after the match (celebrating and walking out with his titles, but with Kingdom playing, with Cody laying in the ring), the story can continue with Cody wanting "Redemption" by getting an actual win over Roman instead of only technically winning. Brock Lensar can still come out and become a mandatory side quest for Cody until whenever (SummerSlam, probably), but it won't feel like such a burial to so many people because we would know that Cody got to Roman and Cody probably would have won if the match ended legitimately and Roman can't just leave that alone.

Same.....then you got Cole and Graves trying to make the match sound serious....Cole especially.....and it completely fell flat with that background. They deserved WAY better. I'd have been royally pissed if I was either of them, to have that match sponsored by that. I'd rather it have been in the 4 way tag match earlier in the night. Woulda fit there better.

Casuals either won’t like Miz, a large amount of them won’t care for Snoop, a handful of the Black demographic are from the Bloods gang and won’t ever look at anything involving Snoop, and no one’s going to talk about that as much and as long as they will Dom VS Rey. I would have initially thought it to be better shown during one of the “showcase matches.”

Wrestlemania 39 was awesome overall. Night 1 (with the exception of Cena-Theory, the six-woman tag, and Miz-McAfee) got everything right. Some of the booking decisons on Night 2 (mainly both Asuka and Cody losing and Shane's return) were totally ridiculous.

You know what’s ridiculous you think Cody was going to get the win or believe he should have won. He done nothing to earn it or to be a actual threat. He returned 10 months ago beat Seth twice then was gone for 6 months! Yes due to injury but still. Then came back and won the royal rumble AT NUMBER 30 what a joke. If he entered at number 4 and lasted the whole thing to win far enough I could possibly understand him winning at mania. But honestly what had he done to earn it? To earn beating Roman after 3 years undefeated? You fans don’t see the bigger picture and the bigger picture storyline wise! You just see one missed moment at wrestlemania

I'm with you. I don't know why the WrestleTalk crew hated it so much - it might have been my favorite thing about the match. Cutting to a wrestler absolutely cringing at the violence and saying, "Nope! Call the police. Call. The. Police." really sold the violence, and made it clear how extreme the beatings actually were.

With the new character change we could've reverted her back to feeling like the top end of level boss she should be with potential all time classic matches/ Rivalries (looking at Iyo Sky). Plus it legit is slowly turning Bianca to super cena, annoying. And finally it means Asuka has less mania wins than nicholas ffs

Personal opinion about wrestlemania 39...if they booked it differently on both nights I'd really like the event much much more. (Maybe it's me playing too much GM Mode) Night 1 should have started with Seth and Logan cause those two can deliver and it would have gave Wrestlemania a strong start. Then the mens 4-way tag, followed by Austin vs Cena and then the 3 on 3 tag match with the ladies. Everything else on night one was booked great. Night two SHOULD have started with the triple threat IC title match, followed by Asuka and Bianca, then Omos and Brock, then the women's 4-way tag match. The rest can stay where they are. See? A show that starts strong and ends strong. What more do you want? Not saying this wrestlemania was bad, which it wasn't, but this is me nitpicking at this point

I think that in a vacum there was nothing wrong with the prime mascot. It’s logans product, the other guy he pushes it with was inside the costume and it played into the match. It felt more booty-o’s than mountain dew pitch black match. But the amount of adds surounding it really did sour it a bit.

Here's my biggest gripes: 1. Cody. A lot of people said Cody winning was too predictable which I find hilarious given that every single Roman match in the last 2 years except for Summerslam 2021 has ended almost literally the exact same way. Also just subverting something predictable on it's own doesn't automatically make it good, you have to replace what you subverted with something of equal or better quality which at this point I can't see them ever getting what that moment could have been back. Personally I'm just so uninterested in watching any more Roman matches because they're all the same and it's all we've had for what feels like an eternity at this point, at least if Cody had won there would be some uncertainty moving forward. 2. Asuka losing. Just why? Bianca is a dominant vanilla babyface champion that faces no adversity, steam rolls everyone she fights and has no character. She just repeats the same EST phrase nonsense over and over again and has pretty bad mic skills for the position she's in. This was the perfect chance for Asuka to get that 'mania win and give Bianca's character a shakeup but I guess not? Who is even left to face Bianca now? She already beat Becky, she destroyed any credibility Damage Ctrl could have had before they even got started, completely dominated Alexa Bliss and now Asuka as well. What a waste of all that effort changing Asuka's gimmick and everything just to have her lose. 3. Cena/Theory. Did absolutely nothing for either of them. Why the hell would you have the guy you're trying to put over tap out only to then win like a minute later? And wtf was with the biting? Complete waste of time.

The fact that they stretched promos and the panel talking about 6 or 7 matches into *TWO* hours is just ridiculous to me. At least give us one random exhibition match during hour 2!

I knew Asuka was doomed instantly when she came back and didn't win the Rumble, and just got thrown out by Rhea Ripley, the very person who destroyed her so badly she had to leave the first time. That told me that absolutely nothing had changed for her with Triple H booking. After that, I knew anything they did with her was going to result in a let down.

If they wanted Bianca to win at Mania, she shouldn't have gone in as champion. She should've lost the belt to Bayley in their Ladder Match, Damage Ctrl, then dominate Raw as champions, and then at RR, Asuka should return as the murder clown to beat Bayley. Then Asuka dominates Raw on the Road to Mania, Bianca wins the Chamber, and then she can beat Asuka. Bianca having a long reign is not helping her as much as WWE thinks it is.

HARD AGREE on Asuka and Balor. Edge definitely did not need this win and I feel that this loss has put the last nail in the Demon’s coffin. I really agree with what Luke and Ollie were saying on their review. Edge has won every feud he’s had since his return and has not fully put over anyone he’s crossed paths with. It honestly feels like one big vanity project to further pad what has already been a literal HoF career. And Asuka losing made no sense either. The fact that she is now 0-5 at Wrestlemania is preposterous. What was the point in turning murder clown if she was going to lose her FIRST BIG MATCH.

i can at least understand cody loosing as it gives the ability to tell the bloodline "slowly disintegrating" storyline started with the usus loosing. Asuka loosing again at mania was the worst decision as it does nothing for either woman and belair is in need of a character shake up as she is stale as f. Belair needs a few months off (she deserves it) then bring her back as the more cocky fast talking mean girl that she was in NXT it suited her better than the dancing smiling cena type. and whilst she is gone it would give the rest of the girls the chance to build while challenging to the empress who can be dominant but can make her opponents always look good she's that masterful in the ring, also with the Asuka/Kana killer clown being a tweener character you would have no problem throwing faces or heels at her.

Ehhhh I feel like half of your points were completely spot on and the off half were way off. 1) 100% agree Cody should have won 2) it being Triple H's first Mania, in Hollywood and Vince trying to get as much out of Endeavor as possible, it's understandable they'd want to put a bigger name out there than LA Knight. I would have preferred LA Knight too, but it's really not a mistake to have sent Shane out. It's too easy to call it a mistake after the injury, that was unforeseeable. 3) 100% agree Asuka totally should've won 4) 100% Cody should've won, so this would have been fine 5) Titus was fire on commentary, IDK why you hate fun. Do you hate Christmas, too, Adam? 6) I was fine with the result of HIAC but I'd be just as fine if Finn won. Would've helped him more than it helps Edge. Also, come on - the match was really good and if the color of the weapons is all you got against it, I'd say you're really reaching. 7) Cena/Theory was a good match, man. They were never gonna go at a crazy pace and do all sorts of crazy moves, you knew that going in with the wrestlers involved, so I don't know what the complaint is. Of course that was the finish - it would have been totally unbelievable at this point if Theory won clean. 8) 100% agree, Bobby should've been in the Brock match. 9) Pat McAfee was fine, I don't understand the desire to get all famous people away from wrestling. This is a bad stance to take, having Pat get in there was absolutely a benefit to the show and, like it or not, celebrity involvement in Mania is important to the brand and it's not going away. 10) What's bigger than 100%? Because that's how much I agree with the dog-shite sponsorships they're shoving down our throats. Newsflash Kelloggs: we all know that Cinnamon Toast Crunch exists and will purchase it if we so please. This made no one on earth more likely to buy a box of your cereal.

In defence of number 6, while I do agree with the assessment of the result of Finn's match, it happened that way because Finn's head got split open so badly they had to staple it shut In the middle of the match. So Edge winning with a spear or a submission is the faster audible to call than a Finn coup de gras from the top. Plus we aren't Finn so we don't even know if he even felt comfortable going to the top after losing that much blood. One of the side effects of massive blood loss is wooziness and loss of balance. He could have just as easily done it as fallen off and hurt himself even WORSE. Booking is one thing, but a wrestler's health HAS to be the TOP priority in 2023 and beyond, NO EXCEPTIONS!

I seem to be in the vast minority in that I am completely okay with Cody losing and don't see a big problem with Roman retaining the title for a bit longer. I'm more annoyed by Asuka losing. I was far more bothered by all the awkward sponsorship placement.
