The only "young" star he put over so far was Theory and he spent half of that making Theory look like a chump before losing to him via interference. I wouldn't be surprised if he won his retirement match too.

It's already going to be seen as the consolation prize belt so give it to Miz first and let him be obnoxious about it till everyone forgets it was literally made cause they don't think anyone is good enough to beat Roman. Then whoever takes it from Miz actually gets a rub and Miz is Miz, he'll still be in the same spot after the belt rather than giving one of your top guys a potential negative note because "only a champ cause not on Roman's show" nonsense.

Honestly, I feel like they should put it on Rey Mysterio. Outside of the bloodline, Rey Mysterio has had the most heated feud in the company with his son and the rest of judgment day and LWO. Also, he was just recently inducted into the Hall of Fame and is a mainstream name amongst the modern fans. He would be able to legitimize the title immediately if he got it.

As stated previously, he is one of the big mainstream names sptill working in the WWE. When people think of Rey Mysterio, they think of Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, and the rest of the Smackdown 6.

I am inclined to disagree. It is the world HEAVYWEIGHT championship and putting the title on a cruiserweight immediately doesn't help in gaining attention. I am not saying that cruiserweights cannot win heavyweight championships. Wrestling is a work and weight classes do not matter. However from a narrative perspective, cruiserweight winning the heavyweight title is only emotionally satisfying as long it is a well established that the title is mostly won by heavyweights.

100% agree with your comments about this belt being a consolation prize. I think its a great idea but the timing is all wrong. Roman needed to drop one of them. MITB would work as whomever could only challenge for ONE title, not both. Theres the easy way out. Then you can present the new belt to the winner of that match.

What I wanted to see is Cody blow off his feud with Lesnar then go onto MitB, win it, then cash the contract in at SummerSlam but do it with advance notice so he can BEAT Roman for the championship, not merely steal it, and emphasize his desire to overcome Roman at his best. But it's unsurprisingly continuing because WWE wants to run the feud properly (Cody beats Lesnar, Lesnar gets hungry and furiously attacks Cody, defeats him in a non-victory finish in the rematch so Cody gets to play the "you never beat me, I only lost," card, then do the rubber match blowoff-wouldn't be surprised if it were an I Quit match due the whole "I never submitted," theme), which is fine but left Cody's character closure on the table and with no offramp (especially considering Roman is now on the wrong show).

I understand the fact that Cody should still defeat Roman for the titles. But, if he chooses to face reigns and turn down the new title, it makes the new title seem to be an after thought. It makes the title seem like it will never be as good as the WWE Universal Championship. You know what I'm saying? Cody's reason to win the title wasn't because he had beef with Roman. He wanted to be able to finally bring a main title home for his father.

Exactly. WWE really f'd up by not having Cody win at Wrestlemania. Now Roman is a part timer who ran away with both championships, so they have tied themselves up in knots to come up with a solution. By introducing a new title which is automatically viewed as a lesser championship or a consolation prize, even if Cody doesn't challenge for it, they have only added to the problem. The whole storyline makes WWE management look like complete morons (both kayfabe and in reality), who have allowed a wrestler to run their shows. The promotion should dictating when titles are defended, not Roman.

Lashley is in his mid 40’s. He’s older than Brock and he needs to hold the world title. Seth Rollins has been carrying raw on his back forever now so it’s a no brainer. Balor is arguably the top mid card star on raw, leader of the judgement day, and with his accolades aside he had a p massive storyline w edge. However I see them wanting a face champion. So it’ll either be Rollins or McIntyre.

As for who DOES win? I can't see anyone more likely than Seth. No matter how much I would love to see LA Knight win, his time isn't there right now either.

You know with Smackdown superstars being apart of the tournament they could have a Smackdown superstar win the tournament take the world heavyweight championship to Smackdown and Cody winning the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Raw getting a new belt and the title being just called the WWE Championship. Retiring the Universal Championship by officially merging the two titles and returning to the original format from the first brand split with one brand having the WWE title and other having the world heavyweight title.

I agree Baron Corbin shouldn't win this new belt but I would okay with him have a match against Roman at Night of Champions or Money in the Bank. Hopefully Roman loses at Summerslam to Cody Rhodes or Jey Uso.

Not gonna lie, I disagree with almost all of these (except for Brock and Roman and the two "joke entries" in Punk and Shane), but I especially disagree with Cody. Someone in the comments said that the moment Cody declines to enter the WHC Tournament the title IMMEDIATELY loses prestige and worth. As long as the WHC isn't treated as the "end of the story" and instead is treated as "a major step on this long journey", Cody as WHC would be great.

4:18 if he’s Vince’s favorite new giant why is he losing? Omos is not the best but he is a giant. Giants of his size should never fall and never lose. Andre won for nearly 15 years. He’s no Andre don’t get me wrong but his build as a giant (Omos) has been lack luster. When u beat a giant you beat the goat insert David, insert Hogan. So does this new title follow The lineage of the wwe title or the big gold world heavyweight champion. And was the current wwe title not the world heavyweight championship like it says right on the title? So is that the one being replaced? Or is the universal title being replaced so many questions!!!!!!!

WWE & Universal are separate titles. The WHC (2023) could continue WHC (2002) or start fresh, it depends on if the winner calls himself the new or first WH champion.
