WWE isn't involved with the actual mechanics of the game. Its just 2K people figuring out how it would work. Their draft uses the same basics of NBA 2k draft and such

In Universe Mode, a Superstar in one brand can't fight another Superstar in another brand. Even if a title is in both. The champion in question has to be on more than one brand in order for Superstars of other brands to compete for said title. Doing this make things more convenient, because in previous games, I always forget who is in what brand, because anyone can fight anyone regardless of brand. Now, if I'm playing on Raw, I can only choose Superstars on Raw. Same with Smackdown and NXT.

Personally, I wish they would play into the names of the brands. Namely, Raw has a grungy, almost ECW aesthetic with intimate venues (Hammerstein Ballroom for example) focusing on in-ring workrate while Smackdown is glitzy, Hollywood-style, mainstream WWE. The wrestlers themselves can be drafted based on the brand that better reflects their character and in ring style.

Or the original concept from the early to mid 2000s. SD as the Wrestling Show full of simple Storytelling and building new Stars and Raw as the Flagship with bigger stars and a stacked Main Event scene where the Big Stories. But then again Raw have most of the better Wrestlers so I see your point

What's comical is fans complaining about long title Reigns when back in the day that's all we had and on top of it there was no pay-per-view let alone cable, so you wouldn't be able to even see the champions defend their belts unless they were in your area in your area. Shame on WWE for having top attractions and making their champions feel special again 🤣 meanwhile over in AEW, we have a world champion who also barely wrestles and is celebrated for it. and fun fact, Roman Reigns has wrestled more in the last two years than mjf has his entire FOUR YEARS with aew. Where are the complaints about that?

The bloodline is just a sugarcoated “make Roman look strong” for heels. It’s the same as it has been since 2016, but now he’s heel so you’re “allowed” to boo. But now WWE gets the edge lords that like to just cheer heels to cheer Roman(anyone holding up the we the ones sign)

My least favourite thing about the brand split is undoubtedly the championships. The raw woman’s champ is on smackdown and vice versa. The undisputed wwe universal champion is exclusive to smackdown yet the undisputed tag champions can float across shows. The nxt womans tag titles are on smackdown (nearly happened with the nxt woman’s title). The new world heavyweight championship exclusive to raw has smackdown stars competing for it.

@@night6724 Tell me where I am wrong. Bianca (smackdown wrestler) is raw woman’s champion. Rhea ripley (a raw wrestler) is smackdown woman’s champion. Undisputed wwe universal champion roman reigns is exclusive to smackdown hence why the new world heavyweight title is exclusive to raw. Speaking of it aj styles is one of the challengers for this new world heavyweight title but he and the entire OC got drafted to smackdown. Sami and KO can go to both shows whilst they hold the undisputed tag team titles. Alba fyre and Ila dawn are the nxt womans tag team champions and have been drafted to smackdown (I haven’t watched this weeks nxt yet so I don’t know the situation with that). Indi was in a similar situation but she had to relinquish her championship due to injury.

@@harrywakeling5600 for starters the Raw and SD women titles are going to be redesigned and renamed soon. The universal title will also be retired and merged into the WWE title with a new single belt design. Until someone wins the WHC the title is still an undisputed WWE Universal title. If AJ Styles wins he gets traded to Raw just like when Edge won the WHC as a Raw star. Edge won MitB from Mr. Kennedy and cashed in one Undertaker on SD. He brought the belt to raw to say goodbye and went to SD. There is only one men and women’s tag titles so it goes between brands. Again they’re just carrying two belts to represent one title. This isn’t the first time a nxt star took a title to the main roster. I’m pretty sure KO took the NXT title to the main roster for a time. The recent nxt episode hasn’t mentioned the women’s tag title situation. Regardless NXT isn’t a third brand so stars can be on nxt and raw or SD. Apollo Crews was literally drafted twice.

I am 100% sure that the reason the Miz is always involved is because WWE feels comfortable pinning him with basically zero impact on his limited drawing power. Honestly to be able to be pinned again and again is a great way to get on TV. AEW for example often lets people go weeks off TV because they struggle to put them in matches when they will win, and they don't want them to get any losses (miro, keith lee etc) so we just see them less. Miz on the other hand can lose every week and you'll have the same attitude about him no matter what

I might be the only one but I'm not a fan of wrestlers switching brand-exclusive championships, and the whole incident between Becky and Charlotte back in 2021 soured it for me. The SmackDown Women's Champion should stay in SmackDown, the Raw Tag Team Champions should stay on Raw et cetera

Or go back to the World/WWE branding they had in the first Brand Split. That way, either title could move to either show, and we avoid this entire issue. Besides, it's about time for the tag belts to get an update anyway. Women's too actually. More importantly, why make the belts palate swaps of each other? If they look the same, and fill the same niche, why have multiples when you can just keep the one? Why does Stamford make things so hard for themselves? Questions for later

i think whats going to happen is AJ is going to win the tournament and get traded to raw and they will trade cody to smackdown. simple enough. i also think the tournament being held on both brands is fine. i think I consider the tournament like king of the ring, or the money in the bank, events that all superstars are able to participate in because the event ends at night of champions, a non-exclusive premium live event. the only thing I dislike about the brand split is that it doesn't really mean much, like without general managers who hate each other drafting is pointless, so get adam pierce and have him face a douche at the brand split, make it so one drafts the other's women's champion so they gotta do something else, etc

Reminds me of when Eric Biscoff and Stephanie McMahon were poaching each other’s wrestlers and rubbing it in their face.And as a viewer you would think, “Oh, yea, Chris Jerico and Stephanie hate each other so it makes sense that Y2J would join Eric to stick it to her.” It made sense in a wider story.

I used to do silly-bollocks on WWE 2K Universal Modes, but my silly bollocks made sense, like having all three rosters appear on one night a week and if a champion appeared on the card, they had to defend their belt that night, that makes more sense than the randomness of this draft.

I was excited when I saw Finn Balor and Damien Priest were in the tournament for the WHC. I was hoping they would use this to make Judgement Day into an actually strong faction again. Even if they both lost they could have made them seem like a force to recon with. Instead it seems WWE wants the whole faction to be "look at Dom and his goth crew that his dad told him he can't be friends with anymore but he can't control what Dom does at school while Rey is at the office."

To light some clarity in the point 1: Smackdown superstars competing for the World heavyweight championship gives the title some much needed credibility, also the champion can be regarded as a better man by overcoming certain more huddles. So it’s not a worse thing to happen

the thing with the way is that they should incorporate austin theory in some way. he had a mini feud (or rather, a few backstage segments) with gargano a while ago but nothing came out of it. there is so much potential in that story, imagine ciampa eventually returns and gets involved. if given enough time and care this could be huge. hell, they made mandy rose and otis dozovic work!

How I'd fix these because I like brand splits 1) Tournaments for your brand only. New to brands vs Mainstays as the brackets. Thats it. Keep it simple. 2) Change the belt names or just fuckin trade belts dont be weird about a prop. 3) I interpreted this as,"NXT titles are your ticket to the mainshow. Congrats" Once you're drafted you give em up. Done and done. 4) Tag champs can float between brands? Idk that works well enough for me I guess lmao 5) You what? No. You stay on your brand wear your red shirt. 6) Free agency reserved for Big names that can sell it and tag teams. Join a tag team, get a name, get a tee shirt, congratulations now you've cheated the system and can float between brands. 7) I'm not big enough brained to actually Book the whole tournament in a comment section. 8) I was almost certain Shinsuke was happy being pheau-retired, when they made it seem like he was getting a secondary push I assumed it was just so he could put someone over. Someone thats not the Miz. Even as a tutorship type roll similar to what AEW does with all its old folks. Old Boy Shinsuke. Showing someone how to Kinshasa. Aw. Sweet. 9) Someone. Please, please anyone. Remember there's multiple factions on the brand. We could all be fighting all the time instead of just standing around backstage talking about Cricket wireless. 10) Cody Rhodes' story is Christians 1 More Match gimmick. Idk what you're all on about. TL;DR man I wish Lucha Underground wasn't such a trainwreck

I'm gonna make a guess because the draft this year was botched 10. Botching the nxt call ups (you can argue there was too many and a lot were still green and some nxt stars deserved it more) 9. L.a knight and Karrion Kross staying on SD 8. Rhea Ripley on raw and Bel air on SD 7. Judgement day on SD 6. Not making a free agency on the tag champions before the titles split (if they do) 5. Not having McIntyre, sheamus & Gunther on the same brand 4. No amount of returns leaving the show feeling dry 3. No teddy long since 2. Not splitting the main 2 belts beforehand and forcing a 3rd ond 1. The fact that Cody and Roman are both on different shows now

1. yes, it is dumb that you had SD wrestlers competing for the Raw but at the same time, it is possible AJ could win the title and go to Raw with the OC even though it's very likely that Seth might win it. 2. There have been several reports and rumors that Triple H is renaming and redesigning the titles so it's possible that after Night of Champions, Bianca and Rhea are given new title designs and renames. I agree with the criticism here because overall WWE has made it confusing. With Roman, it's one championship by two belts while Owens and Zayn have two separate championships by two belts. I don't see how this is an issue relating to the Draft itself since whenever Owens and Zayn lose the titles or split them up, they'll just be on Raw full time. 5. If Natalya wins the women's tag titles in the future, then she's not wrong per se. She could show up on Raw, SD and NXT but it could also be a slipup and WWE are just gonna brush it under the table. 6. Okay, this one I both agree with and it is a problem with the draft itself. I do understand Brock and even Omos being free agents but the others, nah. Put Cedric and Shelton on Raw and keep teasing the Hurt Business coming back together. 7. I agree with this one, it's the Raw title so really it should have been a Raw tournament. 8. WWE's booking of Shinsuke has ranged from bad to average but Shinsuke being pinned has nothing to do with the Draft itself. Look, if WWE weren't gonna pull the trigger back in 2018 when Shinsuke won the Rumble then it's just not gonna happen. Maybe Shinsuke can have a run with the world title but...... it's not happening and I'm a Shinsuke fan. 9. The Way.......................... huh? again what does this have to do with the Draft? Yes WWE should have acknowledged The Way's history in NXT at least in terms of Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis being with Gargano and Candice LeRae. Johnny Gargano's booking on the main roster so far again has nothing to do with the Draft. Triple H has brought back several people who have done nothing of relevance like Gargano, Karrion Kross, Braun Strowman and especially Bray Wyatt. 10. "Cody Rhodes will never get to finish his story." Um hey Adam, hey Adam, hey Adam, there's a PLE called Money in the Bank coming up. The MITB PLE has the MITB ladder match that Cody could win. Going back to #1, AJ could win the World Heavyweight title, go over to Raw with the OC and the trade off is that Cody wins the MITB briefcase and calls his shot either at SummerSlam or the MSG SmackDown show the Friday after MITB. WWE could totally have someone else win the briefcase and that would make my comment seem stupid but at least I'm giving WWE an open wait-and-see attitude unlike WrestleTalk, Partsfunknown and other Wrestling YTubers.

Ok, keep NXT as a development brand with a mix of good up and coming wrestlers but also the greenest of green wrestlers so we can cringe when we watch them, 2 brands but add a third, a new brand, give it the same gimmick like the 2016 Smackdown brand of hungry wrestlers proving themselves, heck the whole point they added a second brand was that there were too many talented wrestlers so they made Smackdown but now they have the SAME problem, it also isn’t hard to try and make definite storylines that don’t linger across brands like how the Bloodline show up EVERY show, but tbh they really do have too many stars

TBH Roman’s titles need to be officially unified, the tag titles need to be unified, and the women’s titles need to be unified. There are way too many titles as it is. I liked how they did it in the early days of the brand split: one world title, one tag team title, one women’s title, and the champions got to appear on both shows while still champion. The Intercontinental and United States Championships are for all intents and purposes TV titles and should remain exclusive to one show.

You're missing the point of why a brand split. TV networks that sign want wrestler brand exclusivity, but on the other hand you also have wrestlers that have pull and only want to work certain days. Everybody knows Triple H hates working Tuesdays, so you know that he's empathetic to that argument

I love the brand split, but the amount of unnecessary bs this company manages to do just astounds me. If my dumb 23 year old self can book this stuff to make more sense in 2K of all things, I think a team of talented writers can figure this stuff out. About Cody beating Roman, summerslam is perfect, cause it may not be bigger than wresltemania, but it sure damn can be as big as it cause there’s something about summerslam as a PLE that whatever the live attendence is there it’s get doubled by this electric feeling there, so maybe they have like 50k people and I swear it’ll feel like 100k and people there will go insane if like the tension between jey and Roman build up to summerslam, and he betrays him in the match and Cody wins it would be amazing. (Side note Idk if it was just me but this one time on raw, I swear the “ooooh” in Cody’s song, people there were louder than wrestlemania so we’ll be good on that front.)

WWE did make the draft really hard to follow, I started cracking up in laughter because Natalia had her on portion in this video about how she can be on both brands because she wants too!!! hahaha, WWE also needs to fix the women’s Raw and Smackdown championship issue I am very confused by that. I believe that also both sets of men and women tag team champion can be on both shows (Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn) (Liv Morgan/Raquel) I believe as it relates to Roman reigns with Raw having the World heavyweight championship for Smackdown The WWE and Universal championships are looked at as one champion for Smackdown.

To rename the women's belts it would make more sense for it to be WWE and Universal Women's championships as women don't have weight classes for someone to be a heavyweight as that is a legacy from when weight classes mattered.
