I think thq should have a lot of entrance attires like in SvR 2010, the same type of physics as 2011, separate reversal buttons like before, Season/ Story mode like the Original SvR- 2008, better use of cutscenes and storylines in Universe, and bigger arenas. Those are what i believe are needed. Things like gm and create a title are extra necessities

I love wrestling games, been playing them since the 90s and I love them. This was my first next gen wrestling game and it didn't disappoint. Although I prefer SVR06 and 07 on the PS2, this is definitely a great game. SVR is the only sports game that I buy every year.

This game really isn’t half as bad as people say it is. Yeah it eliminated GM Mode which made part of my soul die. But it has great game play and an awesome Road To Wrestlemania. SvR 2009 is definitely not the worst SvR game like some people say it is. For me it’s better than SvR and SvR 2008.

I remember getting this game for the wii. It is better than svr 2008. It had more match types, more weapons, and fun road to wrestlemanias. Even though that Undertaker one was pretty terrible. But still it's a fun game and a big improvement over svr 2008 wii version.

Yeah...it kinda did. Before 2010, all the games focused on something 2007- New physics and graphics 2008- ECW and hardcore gameplay 2009- Tag Team all those games had pretty good graphics and focused on the gameplay afterwards. 2010 brought new graphics to the WWE games, but didn't offer much else. 2011 was ok as well, they only did good with the physics. WWE 12 didn't have as great of graphics as 2008 and 2009 imo, but it had a HUGE roster, offered a new WWE universe mode, and better gameplay.

I agree with the create-a-finisher. Why limit what can be done the further into it you get? I mean, why not let us really create the finisher we want. In fact, give us the option of being able to really edit moves by adjusting each body part just like the game Fighting Game Tsukuru...

I love 2007 and 2009. The gameplay is better than in 2010 and better than in 2008. It's very similar to 2007 with a few improvements.

Well before 2011 I think that they worried about graphics way too much. In 2011 and 2012 they focused more on the moves and roster instead of graphics which I think was a good choice. It made the games funner. I still find myself playing old school WWF and WCW games for PS1, because I like the gameplay a lot more then the graphics.

In my opinion, this is the game that ruined the series. SVR 2008 was bad compared to 2007 but SVR 2009 took away all the replayability. After I won the titles, what could I do next? There were no storylines to play though and no general manager mode either. That road to wrestlemania mode took away every aspect of a wrestling career and replaced it with a linear storyline that didn't even let you use your created character. I liked to be fully immersed in the world and this game removed it. After this game the story mode didn't really recover till WWE13 which only had a decent story mode because it was basically a history lesson that I could nostalgia at. Overall, practically all the Smackdown games before this one had aout a year of replayability. This one had a month at most. That alone destroyed this series.

You make some great points. I agree fully with you on the fact that this game was a big blow to the series soon after. However, Smackdown vs. RAW 2011 wasn't too bad. WWE Universe -- in my opinion -- was a good mode to build on, and they have done so. But Road to Wrestlemania still sucked, especially the voice overs - just horrific script-reading and lip syncing! That lead to the end of the mode in WWE '12, which had the WORST Road to Wrestlemania ever. It was boring, nonsensical, and a complete joke overall. It was a wasted mode, tbh. One of my biggest gripes on the series (as of late) is that the core gameplay experience has been practically the same since Smackdown vs. RAW 2008. Yeah, they added their little tweaks and textures AROUND it, but we fans want a bit more to the table. Not to mention the animations are quite lackluster. Now back to Smackdown vs. RAW 2009. The game is OKAY at best. The addition of Road to Wrestlemania was a 7 at best, so attempting to play the game a full year wouldn't have been easy since -- for what ever reason -- they decided to remove GM mode - a terrible decision, really.

***** The thing is that you could play them again differently and get a completely different storyline. You could be on a different show (which lead to different storylines), you could choose different options (changing the storyline) or you could even deliberately lose a match and that would possibly throw the story in a completely different direction. Not to mention GM mode. No game is 100% replayable - but the SVR series prior to 2009 was one of the most replayable games I've played.

You can use a created superstar in Road To WrestleMania. All you have to do is take your created superstar and copy his move set to your Road To WrestleMania character. Create a random superstar and copy your Road To WrestleMania character. Once your created superstars move set is with your Road To WrestleMania character then you're set.

And as for the divas they are great my favorite is melina candice maria but they should have made the superstars outfits to be interchangeable i grow bored of the same old outfits and the created characters are fantastic the especially the divas the out looking hot at least you can change their outfits unlike the superstars but it's still a great game to play or watch them fight each other in cpu mode but

One more thing why did they have to make the counters in two separate colors red and blue it's confusing when you play it it's difficult to tell which color counter to use because it pops up to fast and you don't know if it's going to be red or blue when you think is going be blue it turns out red and so on can't they leave it in one color.

I kind don't like how they release a new game every year because then it makes me not want to put as much effort into my CAWs, entrances, finishers etc because a new game will come out a year later. I think they should release a game every 2-3 years and really make each game special and unique, and stop with this yearly stuff, I will probably get 2010 but still, it'll probably be the last one I get.

Yes, GM is the bomb, but I was more referring to the superstar version, not GM. I love fantasy, that's why I still play 06, for the GM mode. In 2008 you have to play through injuries and it gets boring. Just watch IGN's review of 08. You'll see what I mean.

Actually the looks and maps are big differences, you can't sit their and say Far Cry is the same as Call of Duty, Left 4 Dead or Black. You can't call these games the same just because you shoot people with the same guns. What drives an FPS is the story, it has to make you want to kill the enemies, and for the most part alot of them do, Whereas SvR09 is basically an upgrade of previous SvR games. We're never going to get a new SvR game, unless the reigns are given to a completely new company.

There are some problems with this game: When you take the pin, the ref just stands there then finally counts, The divas don't look too good (just look at Candice), Small characters shouldn't be able to lift up heavier characters, Example: Rey Mysterio lifting Batista in a samoan drop, Ladder matches only have the World heavy weight champion hung up (Even if it's for the Intercontinental), Theres the clipping issue, They need to reanimate some of the wrestling moves
