What did The Solomonster mean, exactly by what he said around 48:26-48:32 about the likes of The Undertaker & Goldberg, for example?... To be fair, Goldberg could still suit up & go when called upon--even in mid-2019. Here we are, now in early-2024 & Goldberg still looks like he could run right through a brick wall & come out the other side without do much as a mark on him.

I will say, that in arab countries and south asian countries, the Vince McMahon formula works because the audience is not into independent scene that much. I am into independent scene and I know what Finn Balor and others can do so I am a fan. But the majority buys the "superstar" gimmick and the Randy Ortons and the Roman Reigns are way more popular and get more cheers. CM Punk chants are global because wwe built him up that way, like a superstar. This is just an opinion.

I'll preface this comment by saying for years my opinion of Goldberg was exactly in line with Matt Riddle's. I never bought into his character and lack of ability to work, and him ending Bret Hart's career was the fecal icing on this sh*t-sandwich for me. That said, this match is getting a lot of unfair hate due to his injury, and that's not an excuse. It was, in fact, the catalyst in this match going from what would've very likely been a better-than-expected performance for both guys to the trainwreck it's unfortunately gonna be remembered as. Goldberg concussed himself in the corner, and then did not protect himself during the Tombstone by tucking his chin to his chest and took another heavy blow to the head. He was blown up due to the heat and disoriented from the injury, and didn't have his legs under him when they went for the Jackhammer. Undertaker fed up good enough, but Goldberg was completely gassed and hurt. He couldn't pull off his finisher, and didn't have the energy to cooperate with the Tombstone reversal. Match ends in a trainwreck. Looking at the spots they had planned and how they were working together early, this was going to turn out better than most people expected, myself included. As unpopular as it is to say right now with emotions still riding high on the fallout from this match, they deserve another shot at it. Undertaker has gotten himself back in great shape, and in better circumstances, I think the two could still pull off a decent match. And respect to Goldberg here. No, he's not a good worker and his ring psychology is pedestrian at best, but he gave his all in this match and tried his hardest to entertain the fans. His body just gave out. I want to see a rematch, and I'm not ashamed to say it.
@unclelloyd
@unclelloyd 5 жыл бұрын
@@zackreynolds21 No personal opinion to see Goldberg failed to protect himself on that Tombstone. It is absolutely essential for anyone receiving the move to tuck their chin. Had he done this he would've been fine. Same as Undertaker saving himself from a broken neck by doing exactly that when Goldberg completely butchered the Jackhammer.
@unclelloyd
@unclelloyd 5 жыл бұрын

@unclelloyd
@unclelloyd 5 жыл бұрын
@@zackreynolds21 I'm not even going to use the energy and time to skim over your jargon at this point. You're a mark, and it's been obvious from the beginning. I tried to make nice and offer you some perspective, but your blinders are darker than I thought. Goldberg is a horrible worker, always has been (SWIDT). Both he and Undertaker made mistakes in their match, but moreso Goldberg because he's a big goof who was never properly trained/conditioned for this business before being thrust in the spotlight. And for the last time, coming from someone who has both given and received the Tombstone piledriver many times: rule #1; you tuck your chin into your chest. Anyone who's ever been involved with the maneuver knows this. It's precaution #1, as the recipient's safety can't always be guaranteed in a downward velocity when their body is fully inverted. Could Undertaker have held his posture better at impact? Sure. That would've kept Bill's stationary head far enough from the mat to make up for his lack of awareness on how to protect himself. But, it's a two-man move. Both participants have to do their part to pull it off correctly to avoid injury, and Bill, for whatever reason, left his head dangling and the rest to chance, and he's lucky he wasn't seriously injured. As you ponder that, I'm almost curious to ask you to name me five great Bill Goldberg matches, as I'm sure the results would be quite amusing. But, as it is, I got shit to do today. Peace out.

By all accounts, Goldberg is a very genuine and kind man. I don't see any reason for such vitriol against him.

I respect these two and all they've done, but they need to retire immediately. Yesterday was a disgrace and the talent in this company doesnt need to be overshadowed by two men that are a shell of their former selves in a sloppy shitshow

I think Sting Undertaker might work. Sting is a ringleader, Goldberg is not. And Sting actually knows to wrestle, Goldberg not. With Sting the match doesnt has to be fast paced and im sure the crowd will eat it up. BUT NOT IN SAUDI NO NO NO. ON WRESTLEMANIA!

All the respect Taker has earned over the years, but he is in no position to be annoyed or frustrated with his opponents over how a match goes. He is just as much to blame for these last few years of bad matches as his opponents. HBK said it best to HHH after Crown Jewel "we are too old for this sh!t" P.S. Riddle believes his own hype way too much lol chill out "bro"

Yes Cole , Graves , and Young sweeting in hot clothing in the heat got hours I wonder if they got a IVBag after to rehydrate because they couldn't really drink water or sports drink because they get no restroom breaks . Which I think during video packages thry should be allowed especially Corey Graves does both brands during ppv.

Solomonster LoL on Ziggler referencing Kofi as the greatest WWE champion in history was classic. Kofi is a greatest, one of the greatest disappointments as champion, what a joke.

BMoney04 , Kofi is disappointing because he does nothing for the titles lineage. Ziggler said “Kofi is the greatest champion of all time” Solomonster laughed and I’m sure everyone who heard it did. I know it’s not his fault or Ziggler’s for making the comment, and I’m sure in real life Kofi is a stand up guy. But his character is a buffoon, a joke, booty o’s and throwing pancakes?! This reminds me of WCW when they put the title on David Arquette. Comparable to the greats of the past, nothing is legitimate about him being champion.

After the loss to Lesner. I thought Undertaker redeemed himself at WrestleMania 31, that should of been his last match. its been all down hill since then. I don't think Bray Wyatt should of been his last opponent, but they could of worked at the Rumble. Mania 31 could of been Undertaker and Sting at that point they probably could of had a decent match.

Love a good match with these guys but we need more big guys with some personality and ability as I just cannot get behind a product with too many small guys. Big guys beat small guys, it is what it is and I want to see the most legit looking people wrestle.

Chris Manager a lot of wrestlers in NJPW have personalities, but prob won’t notice because most of there wrestlers don’t speak English. But I rather watch a good wrestling product that puts on amazing matches constantly like NJPW! Then WWE any day
