I honestly don't understand people not getting the Lesnar/Goldberg angle and I really can't understand why the streak is even brought into this while it has nothing to do with it. Remember: this is GOLDBERG. Think about what Goldberg is in wrestling "lore" so to say. He's the man that went 173-0 winning short matches, dominating them. He's supposed to be Lesnar's equal. Lesnar lost because he turned his back on him, he didn't take him seriously just because he's supposed to be a "old man".
@BlackWind908 жыл бұрын
And to those who say "yeah but he is old you know", yeah, no shit, so has The Undertaker been for years. He's still The Undertaker though, isn't he? Isn't that the reason why people got butthurt in the first place when Lesnar broke the streak?
@Helldog68 жыл бұрын

The Undertaker didn't disappear for 12 years to do movies and Celebrity Apprentice. Goldberg is a relic of an outdated form of wrestling. His streak worked in WCW when wrestling matches were as short as possible and technicians and cruiserweights were routinely humiliated, nowadays people actually care about matches. giving Goldberg squash matches at the expense of the other roster is no different than when Rock squashed Rowan at Wrestlemania, or when HBK, Austin, and Foley beat up the League of Nations. It serves to give a cheap pop to the old nostalgic crowd.

That match was the single greatest thing I've seen in 20 years of watching wrestling. Like, hands down, no exaggeration, my favorite moment. After he hit the first spear, I joked to my friend "holy crap, I just want him to hit another spear, jackhammer, pin, stand up, "that's two bitch!" And walk away. AND THEN HE FREAKING DID IT. I'm totally biased beyond reason. I get that. Goldberg is my second favorite of all time next to Sting. I started watching wrestling during the Monday night wars with WCW. Goldberg at his peak. After seeing what they did with Sting, all I could think of was "great, they're going to kill the legend of Goldbe...HOLY CRAP HE DID IT." Base Goldberg retains legendary status! SO PSYCHED!!!
