This feud, the build up and the HITC finale were iconic. WWE really destroyed the meaning and importance of HITC when they made it into a set yearly PPV format. Rather than having it just be used as an unpredictable, unscheduled final showdown for a long standing, well established feud, like it was in this instance.

@ Elimination Chambers fine with me cause it’s a wrap around for Rumble and Wrestlemania, I feel there’s more things you can do with the Chamber yearly to keep it from being old, and if we don’t do it yearly it’s gonna be a very forced and ridiculous gimmick otherwise. For what reason would we do it at another event? I think they introduced it to PPV early enough for it not to feel like a down grade: New Years Revolution 2005

What happened after E&C / Hardy match was the gloves APA were wearing and the belt Jeff had on. Ron's finger had been caught while lifting Jeffrey up. For a split second you see the instincts of both men take over. Jeffrey went limp which allowed Ron full control in case he needed to throw, drop or put him back down. If either man decided to go all the way through with the move, there would have been a very noticeable botch. But instead we see a little hiccup, Jeffery has to wait for another day to get killed in a wrestling ring and Mr. Simmons keeps eleven fingers. *Side note, the APA wear fingerless gloves moving forward

When I was a kid I saw the Dudleyz as antiheroes and the NAO as straight up heels due to their association wIth HHH.
@RoyStantz10 күн бұрын
@@jackcarraway4707 That works, too, since the Dudleyz were now gaining popularity after their table match with the Hardyz.

I remember being so into WWF back then especially when they started airing on Channel 4 here in the UK so I didn’t have to always go to my mate’s house or get him to record it for me since he could afford Sky Digital to watch it back then & my family wouldn’t be able to afford Sky TV for another year and a half when they had a big price drop around the time of the Invasion angle in 2001. Despite enjoying this PPV as well it also made me so mad that so many heels won on one show. I don’t think I can remember ever seeing another PPV or television episode of any wrestling with so many Heels winning in one night

It would be pretty darn humorous if you narrated one night in chyna like this lol

26:58 If i remember from Mick Foleys "hard knocks and cheap pops" video, he broke his nose on this bump.

Love how Steph is half-wearing the championship in the thumbnail.

WWE would’ve really pulled ahead if they scooped up Glacier!!! Stone Cold vs Glacier at WrestleMania!

Great match but I’m glad foley didn’t retire after this and had classics with flair Orton and edge years later

You're not alone. I never cared for all the brawling in the crowd. It can be magic if done right (and rarely) but it was just an expected spot in WWE.

I remember this time period so well and I genuinely remember thinking Mick Foley really was retiring. At the end of the match I stood up to honour him and then Jim Ross said 'if you're not on your feet, you should be' 😅

I've always thought it was weird that Chyna got her own entrance here when she was ultimately Jericho's manager in this match

Tell me one single match between WCW main eventers that worth rewatch. In this era, almost every WWF's PPV main events worth rewatch. They even did not need Austin to win easy

Didn't have Cactus in the thumbnail, but opened the video with his theme music? Interesting choice. :D

Love the cactus jack theme for the intro. Very fitting and always one of my favorite themes of all time.

Maybe Jeff was feeling off from a hit and fighting being lifted for the Dominator for real when Faarooq was expecting him to cooperate with the spot.

One of the big differences between WWF and WCW right now is a lot of featured performers on this show weren't even in WWF 6 months ago. They have bolstered their roster with Angle, Jericho, the Radicalz & Dudleys and given the likes of the Hardys, E&C, Too Cool & Rikishi the chance to develop into stars. Its becoming so one sided even without Austin & Undertaker being around. WWF is reinventing and WCW is booking Flair v Hogan
