People accuse Colbert of not really being very intelligent because he has a dozen or so writers on his show. This clip, and others, prove that is wrong.

Trump real problem is that he wants dignity he craves it desperately more than anyone else, but his definition of dignity is very different from everyone else's. He thinks dignity is making people believe his lies who cares if it is not the truth in other words he has no conscience, he thinks dignity is how many people show up to his inauguration he doesn't understand that even if 100 sane people heard him speak it is worth more than 10 million insane people quality versus quantity, he thinks dignity is in ratings but majority of those who tune in to watch him fire people are laughing at him, he thinks true power lies in how many peoples mind he can change but doesn't understand if your influence perpetuates more negative influence it is no victory, he thinks morals are accessories of poor people but no they are validation of being a human being not an criminal, he thinks people are cheering when he speaks because he can't tell the difference between being mocked and admired.

Personally I think that whatever dignity Trump had was completely obliterated when he mocked the disabled reporter. I just don't get why this wasn't enough for anyone to be totally turned off Trump, regardless of political persuasions. I also don't get how any Republican, with a shred of integrity, can still stand beside him - they have the majority in both houses, why they just don't get rid of Trump now, rather than later, is beyond me (particularly given public opinion on Trump). Seriously Trumpers, I can give you a pass for your early support of Trump (even though there has been plenty of evidence over the course of his life to show that he is a total knob), but still continuing your adulation of Trump, regardless of the scandals and his total ignorance about America in general, is not only ridiculous, it's unsettling,

I disagree with Colbert on the likeliness of Trump gaining dignity: there's no chance that's going to happen. Trump is crass, that's in his nature. He's also too narcissistic and stupid to rein in his baser instincts. He is what he is, and only dementia or Alzheimers will change him.
