The thing you learn as the attacker from these videos is shoot first before something like this happens.

Its true, the enemy's these old films where designed to go against have already trained for the same things, they not only expect it but probably have training to counter the counter lol. Joe Shmo on the streets can be taken by surprise, even kids new to the battlefield surprised by the quick intensity of the moment, but a well trained and seasoned soldier these may not work so easily on.

Things have changed. Now, it's all about having a secure overwatch. Another interesting concept is use your body armor and helmet to your advantage. Headbutt with your helmet and close the distance. I remember doing close quarters combat hand to hand fighting - the emphasis was fight fast, fight dirty, and get ugly. But, even with 6 combat tours, I never had to use hand to hand combat. Had to dodge and kick rabid and feral dogs in Iraq while pulling my pistol to shoot the dogs.

@@sledge2105 well, I did both... In short, it was a shit show. It was the best weirdest worst time of my life. I grew to love the Kurds, despise the radical zealot extremists, and felt sorrow for the youth of Afghanistan. 4 times through Iraq, once though Afghanistan, and once through the Philippines. I left part of my soul in Iraq. I dream of the Zagros Mountains and the landscape of northern Iraq. I long for the palm groves along the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. I miss Iraq. I miss war and combat. I'm messed up and don't want to fight anymore but I miss Iraq and combat like a junkie craving just one more fix....

Is that thing about shoving back on the slide of an automatic pistol still true?
@Existntlangst
@Existntlangst 2 жыл бұрын
@@greg55666 not sure. I did lots of hand to hand combat training and it was always about hitting the nerve on the forearm or moving the handgun away from you while you kick out their knee, hit them in the groin, and blind them by going after the eyes... But the main way to avoid this was to shoot them in the face first or keep them at gun point, shooting first and then getting the weapon away.

Many of these moves look cool and effective, but in real life situations that happen so fast with random and unpredictable movements most of these tactics are just going to get you killed. However the hold beginning at 0:49 is very effective, and if you can get it applied correctly, you can lead just about anyone around like a puppy on a leash.

@@hoseqt1 Actually I have, at some point I've had it applied to me too. That's how I know the validity of it's effectiveness. As far as many of the rest of these moves, trust me I've probably got more bullet holes in me then you've owned cars in your life, stop watching so many movies and thinking they're real.

@@hoseqt1 Feel more than free to try them in real combat and see what happens. Everyone can talk tough on the internet, but even I wouldn't bet my cousin's life on these moves if he were actually out there fighting for his life. The ENEMY WILL NOT FOLLOW STUPID RULES...THEY WILL KILL. They will NOT just stand there and let you tear their arm off and you're NOT as stong as you think you are.

This is an idiotic statement. It’s an MP training video. Do you think all the soldiers were angels just single minded in fighting the fascists and Japanese? There are many documented cases of criminal acts by servicemen. Several acting as organized gangs.

Man, by the end of the day that assailant had to have the worst case of blue balls, but not for the usual reason. The truth of the matter is that groin blows don’t always work. I learned the hard way that every once in a while it just enrages your opponent. By all means, use it because it mostly works, but be prepared to have to handle a beserker.
@Suzuki_Hiakura

Important note in ALL self defense situations... in true self defense situations, a kick to the groin will only work about 30% of the time. Most of the time it will have no effect whatsoever, until after the fight is over and you are down...

Several observations. These moves remind me of all those choreographed Chinese martial arts movies where the assailant(s) stand around waiting to be hit one by one. These techniques require a stupid assailant who will be within arms reach with his weapon. A lot of these techniques seem really high risk to me. Finally, good luck remembering all those moves unless you practice them practically every day.
