We have a lot more issues with the blanks firing than live rounds especially in the semi auto guns. Blanks require adapters to cycle the gases and bolt properly and a lot of fine tuning is required

I think the bolts on the Thompson are heavier than the Sten or the M3 which leads to the latter running blanks better than the former since there’s no projectile to help redirect the expanding gas backwards to knock the bolt around

Its the blanks. Blanks cause weapon malfunctions in semi/full auto very easily, especially without a BFA on the muzzle. The weapons would likely run fine on live ammo.

​@@TheCephalusMost automatic guns are gas operated (use the gas from the ammo to cycle) or recoil operation (use the force of the bullet to cycle). Blanks dont have the weight of the actual bullet and usually only have 3/4th of the powder charge that a real bullet has. So the gas and recoil is much weaker and doesnt properly cycle the action.

That wasn't a tank, that was pork. And the reenactors shouldn't have allowed her to be dressed up in a uniform or a tent or whatever it was she was wearing and doing that because that isnt "living history". Which is what reenactors are suppose to be portraying. I did Civil War reenacting for 12 years and my unit would have NEVER let someone's wife put a uniform on as if it was something that actually happened in front of the public like that. Just like we wouldn't let a 7 year old boy be a drummer boy either because it didn't happen in real life. Obviously some beta let his wife do something for fear of being crushed.

The grease gun was available to tankers in WWII and 1981, our tankers and heavy junk operators were armed with them. Simple yet effective.

I love the grease gun. Its firerate is right at that point that you can keep it on target easily. I hate modern guns that just ooze bullets, and you can't control them.

@FireAntFury I said "modern guns that just ooze bullets" as in guns made for fire rate and nothing else like a micro uzi at 1200 rpm. It sacrifices everything for more ooze. The m4 is designed from the ground up to reduce recoil and uses a small caliber round. So it doesn't just ooze rounds. Even tho it can hit what? 950 if I remember right. The vector can shoot 1200 rpm aswelllike the uzi, but it doesn't just ooze them it has a very complicated recoil system to make it only a lightly less accurate on full auto than semi. It's why I don't like the Thompson, but I like the m3. The thompson just shoots too fast to control it as well, even with the same ammo as m3.

I'm glad I'm not the only one this deeply bothered. I pulled my carry pistol on someone who ignorantly flagged me multiple times throughout the day. He got mad and asked what the big deal was and I told him I'll shoot him on purpose before he shoots me on accident and proceeded to barade him about the 5 or 6 times I had already told him to only point that muzzle at something he's willing to shoot

He left not long after that but I'm not about to get shot because someone can't practice basic firearm safety. We have a fairly unregulated range with no range master. The people who run it trust people enough to not do stupid stuff. We've only had 2 big incidents that caused major changes to the range. 1 guy shot over the berm and hit a radio tower and another guy shot over a berm and hit a car on a ranch not far from the range. All that really happened was they changed the direction of the range away from the radio towers and enclosed the ranges facing the ranch with cinder blocks and rail road ties

Rocking the magazine was well known to jam the weapon. Both the US and British training manuals for the Thompson, pre 1941 and for the M1 variant layer (looking at them as I write this say the off hand is to be placed on the foregrip, which was vertical for that purpose prior to the M1 variant My copy of the Sten manual instructs the operator to ute the off hand to hold the barrel shroud (firing from hip) or at he barrel nut (firing from the shoulder).

"Another problem was that the magazine was also sometimes misused as a handhold. This could cause the weapon to malfunction when hand pressure on the magazine body caused the magazine lips to move out of the line of feed, since the magazine well did not keep the magazine firmly locked. @@goestheboom5211it is um.. factually an mg42. my reasoning for this statement is: it is not an mg34, it is an mg42. that is why it is an mg42. thank you for listening to my ted talk. fr tho the mg34 lacks a barrel shroud/ handguard (youre not meant to c clamp the mg42 tho) the mg42 is largely bulkier and blockier than the mg34 so that can help you tell them apart
