I remember a similar video of a similar system with the Solberg brothers (both WRC drivers and one being a WRC champion) and they were thrilled. Those guys were flying around in that thing and it was truly amazing to see how they could handle it.

Vendetta042 you feel a really hard hit on the side and the seat tilts as far as possible and stops. It does not simulate the movement of the seat but the forces that you feel.

Have a bucket ready. Also, you would have to disable the positional tracking on the Rift. You don't want the seat movement to be throwing your camera around ingame.

cg guy I was in Miami Florida yesterday. Motion-Sim.cz is located there. I called to see if I could try it out, but they don't have any on display. Miami is their only location in North America. Why would anyone buy this when they have no way of trying it? I'm not wanting to buy it of course, I just wanted to try it out and do a little review for youtube.

Imagine this set up for a motorcycle simulator. Cars are bad ass too, but I can see one of these being developed for professional MotoGP riders for practice too. I hope they'll make a consumer model too...

***** Actualy I do, 1,4kW per hour it's not a big issue for this type of machine. My electric heater spends 1,8kw, but obviously it all depends on how many hours you spend in that simulator :)

+GTSpeedster I agree that it's not better in it's current state although I am fairly certain that the future of immersion belongs to VR. It will be different with upcoming HMD's, HTC Vive being the first with a no motion sickness guarantee. All the consumer headsets have twice the resolution than CV2 and they are already building 4k headsets for 2018 which will be realized by the two new gpu architectures rolled out primary by Nvidea in 2016 (Pascal) respective 2018 (Volta) each with especially significant improvements in VRAM over previous generations. Pascal = 32GB VRAM.

Get a Pimax 4k vr headset. Its upscale 4k but still sharper HD image. Much cheaper than Vive and its perfect for racing game

Tbh, you could get a lot more with spending a lot less if you choose your own setup. Say pick a motion seat with triple monitors, Fanatec kit, and a good PC and you're good to go. Doesn't even need to hit 20k.
