As a former disaster response coordinator, I want to commend your efforts in getting this high-quality drone footage out so quickly. If only we had such high-quality visual information after every remote disaster! Data is gold for decision-making at times like this, and I hope your footage is well used by the teams involved. Keep up the good work!

I was surprised that I didn't see any geodesic dome homes which are rated at 225 mph winds. Also Hempcrete, concrete mixed with hemp fibers, add alot of strength for little $$ especially for low slope concrete roofs.

This heartbreaking footage has actually been a source of tremendous relief for the family of a yachtie stranded in Tyrell Bay and thousands of miles away from home. what is obviously devastating is the building damage, which looks extensive, but is also disheartening is the complete lack of foliage now on the trees. the wind just wiped them clean of green... it's hard to watch and I hope everyone there can rebuild and live happy again very soon.

What was unreal were the eyewitnesses on the Carib Reservation on the northeast coast in Dominica with Hurricane Maria Cat 5 just before landfall in 2017..." the brilliant hues of blues and green in a boiling sky ... the lightning reached down to the ocean and ran along to the land where it caught huge trenches of forest on fire... the blackened and burnt sticks where foliage had been bore witness for months afterwards and not a blade of grass was to be seen as Maria pulverised every leaf into a fine misty green powder" such were the testimonies of those who survived.....

We sailed by Carriacou last Saturday on our way to a slip in Grenada where we rode out the storm. Last summer we spent most of it in Tyrell Bay and were planning on doing the same this year. It really hits home to see a place you are familiar with so destroyed. The Cruising Community here at the marina sent a large care package on the ferry to help out until more organized relief can arrive.

this footage is obviously intense and I feel for all affected. That said, I must say I’m so impressed with the percent of homes that survived and look barely affected. Islanders know storms are coming and build accordingly and even the boats while pushed inland or ashore aren’t really smashed to bits. I’ve been through many hurricanes, one that was a direct hit such as this and there was literally one structure still standing and everything else down to the concrete slabs…. Boats splintered and waterways blocked. I hope they get all the relief and help they need to rebuild their island paradise once more. ❤❤such a beautiful place

Man I feel this.......memories of hurricane Maria here in Dominica almost 7 years ago, the next day everything was dead, like fire passed in the vegetation during the night of the hurricane trees brown, dried like the very life was sucked right out if their core........but we got help and the Almighty God was with us........I pray that the same assistance will come speedily to you all our brothers and sisters on the affected islands. Keep praying, keep hope alive and have much faith. That night I saw death, I heard voices at 1am in the morning in the storm, heard kids laughing and talking, but there were no kids outside......my roof went before the eye passed over........and then came the backend and it lasted for about 6 hours..........was like Maria was searching for something, searching for souls, my 2 and half year old son I had to cover with a basin, we (4) took shelter in the bathroom which was the smallest room from 9pm till about 10pm when the eye was over us, I know what these people suffered I have been there and pray to God I never have to experience anything like this again............

Many or even most of the buildings are destroyed. Some of the buildings, even the ones right on the water, appear to be untouched. Tells you what different construction methods can do.

As Charles III is the monarch of this island, I am sure the UK is busy gearing up for aid.

Last I heard they were advocating republic. So is Jamaica. I am sure Barbafos president won't be calling the monarch for a visit. But KCIII will always help the Commonwealth of nations.

Im sure Chuck and his mistress are on top of donating their immense wealth to this country, or any of the commonwealth countries in the Caribbean. 🙄. What color was the unicorn you fell off?

There is not a single structure that escaped serious damage. This is exactly what catastrophic devastation looks like. I hope the international community steps in rather quickly to offer significant aid and other assistance to the people of Carriacou, Grenada. Truly heartbreaking.
