I don't understand why ppl think this is a bad washing machine. After getting fed up with the front load not washing properly this machine looks ljke a dream come true to me. The noise is a lot less than the maytag front load I had but I do miss the time notification. This doesn't tell you when it would be done. Just as my local salesperson said do the deep water and extra rinse for kids clothes. Even at normal setting with extra rinse it came out superb. Took over an hour to finish the cycle though

I have this machine and really like it. At first I thought it wasn't filling properly, and found this video to verify it was working as it should. I bought the machine specifically for the removable agitator so I could wash my quilts, and it does the job. For these larger items, I add the extra rinse and deep water options. (Pet hair) The machine IS noisy and seems to shake while spinning. Do not make the same mistake I did at first, and overfilled the washer with a ton of clothes...just testing the waters.

I'm considering this machine for similar reasons: Pet Hair and the ability to wash large items less frequently than small things (best of both worlds) but I'm getting so many mixed reviews! Do you still like yours? Have you tried the little floating net things you add into the washer that helps scoop pet hair off the top? I'm wondering if they would work on the deep water setting

I bought this exact machine November 9, 2021 from Lowe’s in Baton Rouge, LA on Millerville Rd. They have a 30 day money back guarantee. My machine started making a horrible noise 31 days on December 8, 2021 after I bought it. We brought it back immediately and because it was 31 days, they wouldn’t switch it out for a new one or give us our money back. Thank goodness we bought the extended warranty on it. We couldn’t get an appointment with a Whirlpool certified repair person until December 20, 2021. That’s the best Whirlpool could find. They won’t be able to fix it until the first week in January because of the holidays. The repairman said it needed a cam kit. I wouldn’t recommend this machine at all. Lowe’s was unwilling to help us out by swapping it out because of it being 31 days that it broke.

I just bought this unit and did my first load using 2 each Gain "he" pods on the heavy duty cycle with the agitator in. My laundry filled half the basket. This load took somewhere between an hour to 90 minutes to complete with the extra rinse. The machine is indeed louder than my old GE agitator type but not nearly as loud as some have complained about. As for washing, the impeller and the agitator both work well on this cycle. The washer will wash for several minutes before it starts to turn the laundry over so don't panic if you see dry laundry sitting on top in the beginning minutes. I assure you every bit of my load turned and washed multiple times. My clothes came out fresh, clean, cold, and almost dry. This will be interesting because it does take longer to wash than my old machine for the same size load but my clothes should dry in half the time from where it's spin cycle is so much better. I'll keep you updated.

My over 20 year old Maytag washer finally broke - and it was loads of laundry day so I rushed out and purchased Whirlpool 2 in 1 WTW5057LW (never researched) what was important to me was price and the product name - First wash was loud, constantly balancing the clothes in basket clicking and clacking, clicking and clacking, I was unable to select the level of water to use (two choices), lint on clothes after the wash cycle completed, it took longer for this wash to be completed probably with all the clothes balancing it was doing and I had a small load of clothes. My Maytag washed and rinse took less time and so much more quieter with no lint - just didn't have the money to purchase another Maytag washer - This whirlpool 2 in 1 looked good but I'm not happy with it.

So I’ve had mine for 5 months now, and I really like it (agree with basically everything in your review), but my heart is still with a Speed Queen TC5 (old fashioned make and functions) and I’m having one delivered Thursday. Removable Agitator is: Pros: 1) Good wash action with lower loads, but the more you fill it, the further they get from the bottom impeller, and less they get agitated. 2) Lots of setting options Cons: 1) Noisy (but I don’t mind that) 2) Little balance funky on super small loads 3) Not much agitation from the agitator So anywho… my husband works in a mine, and we simply just need a basically commercial machine, residentially…. The SQ TC5 is that.

I read you can do this with the faucet feature but it automatically drains after 3 hours. So, I've lived with it for a while. I'm finding I pretty much have to use "deep water" all the time to get a decent clean for my garden and work clothes. You need the deeper water to help the agitator work. It is probably 3 stars, not 4. Also, as others point out, don't layer clothes. Clump them. My wife finds the regular settings without agitator are OK for less soiled clothing, i.e. your typical indoor clothes. We all have different opinions and that's cool. People who complain that the agitator is nothing like the old-style machines are correct too. This machine is not nearly as aggressive as any older machine would be. Still, I find with deep water it helps. It isn't useless, but that's my opinion.

I really appreciate this. We're sticking with our 1970's washers. I like my clothes clean. Since it broke mid-wash, there was still a good bit of water left inside even after we emptied it with a cup and bucket. The technician needed another technician to move it because it was so heavy, This was going to cost an additional $99. Whirlpool denied the request to pay the extra $99. I sent both the washer and dryer back to Lowe's after only two weeks. Whirlpool is a terrible company. Never again.

Well for starters you did not load the machine properly and I don't mean that in a rude way but you're actually supposed to load the machine as if there was a post agitator in there putting things around the edges and that way that when it's washing it will Bloom as it's supposed to rolling the clothes over

It looks like the clothes barely turn or unclump, even with the agitator. I wonder why it rattles so loudly on spin? Not level or the drum is unbalanced? Anyway, THANK YOU so much for posting !!!!! Got a LG and don’t like it. Debated this one but not after seeing the video lol

I purchased a new machine in May and it was great until November. Now it starts and does a balance and spin then drains water that it never put in. Then stops. We have had a repairman twice but it is no better.

Need a diagnostic mode with fault code readings. Can't find anything anywhere
@glacierlaw Жыл бұрын
On back of machine there is a tech spec sheet if installer didn't remove it. Basically they assign a value to each of the top lights and when you get into diagnostic mode you add up the blinks and there is a chart to tell you what is wrong. Very frustrating

Why does it stop after you put your clothes in and the water goes in and it just sits there
@gregarioussolitudinist56952 жыл бұрын
The Quick Instruction sheet shows that clothes are not supposed to be placed in the machine in overlapping layers. They are supposed to be added in clumps around basin/agitator. Maybe that makes the difference?
@wxrayreview2 жыл бұрын
Yes. I don't recall reading that, maybe they changed the instructions based on feedback. I'm not saying I'm an expert, just showing how it worked for me coming from what I know. I also find that deep water helps with the turn-over. But that uses more water. Thanks for mention this, I hope it helps someone else!

Is there a way to turn on buzzer to tell you it's done
@margaretstark95479 ай бұрын
Great demo! Thank you so much 'some guy on the internet'! Question: If you change the temperature to cold and turn off the machine (or run a full cycle and it turns off on its own) when you turn the machine on does it retain the previously selected temperature or does it reset to a default? I rarely use anything but cold water and really want a machine that you can set and forget but all the fancy new ones seem to have their own defaults...

We just bought this washer a few days ago and we are already going to exchange it for a different one. Never again buying a Whirlpool. It bangs louder than our 10 years old washer. Lid doesn't stay open when loading/unloading. Although the fabric softener light turns on, lid doesn't unlock. It also doesn't notify you when it's time to add fabric softener. I absolutely hate it.

Where do you put your detergent and softner?? I’ve always had a machine that has a tray for each??
@tianamarie989 Жыл бұрын
You pour it right into the tub. For the softener(shouldn't use it as it causes build up) I would use that downy ball that you fill up and put in with your load and it pops open during the cycle. If you don't want to do that. Then move over to dryer sheets.

If I forget the softener I do I Rinse n spin only ?
@brianamackay77910 ай бұрын
This is one of the most frustrating things about this washing machine - there is no Rinse and Spin, only "Drain and Spin". I don't even know why you'd need that. So whenever I need to re-rinse a load I have to do a Quick Wash, a whole extra cycle. So wasteful. My landlord chose this washer, and it has a lot of issues, I wish they'd picked something else.

We just bought this washer and we took the five-year extended warranty. When the five years are up, this thing is going to the landfill. Honestly, I'll be taking my clothes to the laundromat periodically for a deep washing. Luckily, our clothes rarely need more than a light wash because a light wash is all this piece of junk can do.
@MatthewJames-st5wv3 жыл бұрын

@marcusmarkus32662 жыл бұрын
Great post... good concept with the removable agitator pole but this machine is garbage. The agitator does not pull the clothes down to the bottom or assist with rolling them over, If it was dual action it might work better or if the impeller fins were a little bigger you might see more of a bloom or rollover. for the most part the impeller just rubs the clothes on the bottom and not the ones on top. Your clothes might be wet but not clean. This machine is built for small to medium light loads.

You have go buy a Downey softener ball. Don't count on it opening every time. Save yourself and just pour it in at the beginning.
