The sharks are in remembrance of a cruiser named Justin Shearer who passed away while test driving a motorcycle with his fiance a long time ago. He had been friends Mikael and a number of other musicians over the years. He was the nicest dude. One year he had too much fun with a similar shark, and it ended up being used as a symbol on a patch that was made in his memory. I ended up with a shark during that set, myself. Mikael gave it a hug and passed it back to me lmao The Halo Effect and Blind Guardian in the Theater were two of my favorite sets of the boat this year, too. Excellent.

I worked on the 70.000 Tons cruise in 2020. I mean I worked on Independence of the Seas so I was lucky enough to attend 6 music charter cruises. So I was chatting with my colleagues from the dining rooms and they were so at ease. Nobody complaining about anything. One of my friends even said that he brought wrong food on some table, the people ate it, and left to enjoy the music. The worst were the guests from the Capital Jazz FM Cruise, they were even complaining if the glass for water wasn't polished enough.
@starscreamthecruel80269 ай бұрын
@@tonchie23I tried to explain this to some non metal head friends about the fact that because we listen to extreme music, we can get our aggravations out in a healthy safe way so we dont have to behave like dicks to everyone else. They weren't convinced *shrugs*

It's basically a music festival without the parts that suck. Can crash out in your bunk if you're getting tired, everyone has a shower which means there's no excuse to stink, it's priced so that people who can afford it know to be on their best behavior without being snobby, everyone has a shower which means there's no excuse to stink, you're able to actually mingle with the artists since they can't really leave the boat when they're doen, and best of all, everyone has a shower which means there's no excuse to stink.

That being said, you're video has sparked much nostalgia in me, and rekindled my interest in the boat with new vigor. I also liked your comments regarding how respectful metalheads are with the staff, as well as the first Blind Guardian set; you're description of remembering teenager years and crying on Bard Song were spot on with my take. Thanks again, and maybe see you next year when we go to Jamaica.

Your comment about metal fans being polite and respectful brought back the memories from some of the concerts I went to. Most of the time I had to book a hotel to attend. The extra fun was the breakfast the day after the concert. I never found any loud or obnoxious metal fans at the breakfast buffet. But they mixed very nicely with the slightly confused and surprised regular crowd, being businessmen and women in their suits. A sight to remember......
