Well, Honda had the Africa Twin prototype at EICMA a few years back, caked in some light mud... Might as well display the 450 as it meant to be, in its well ridden, real-world application form 👍

John, appreciate the continued posts. I'm sure it's a P I T A for you,but thanks. You need to show what the bike looks like when it's allowed to roam in it's natural environment. I'd love to see what the expo has to offer too if you're up for it. My son and I are headed west 7/5 (2 day drive from Illinois)to the St. Elmo Colorado area to start our trip that will also take us into the Moab and Salt Lake City area. Gotta be back by the 24th. Trucking a couple KTM EXC-F'S out there. Would enjoy crossing paths sometime. I'm 61 and it's still my passion. Did the Utah BDR solo up and back a couple years ago. Good times ! Staying tuned !!

If it's clean, do you really ride it? When my kids were growing up, while passing through parking lots, I'd point out all the 4x4s with dirt on them and say, "There's someone who knows how to take care of their 4x4."

Unless you can make all the needed repairs, like the fairing for example, leave it with all the glorious patina. Clean but broken would not show well. Better to have that “I rode the shit out of the old girl just to get here” vibe.
