Dude your videos on this bike are the reason I own one and I'm completely over the top about it. My extended thank you to you for user knowledge that goes way past the BS everybody's spews on the forums!

...Well, I cycled across America, bivied and camped very successfully in a style like yourself, took a hostel when in a major centre (Salt Lake, Moab), and stopped with a friend in Great Falls MT for a week to recuperate. I took no motel or hotel, and I kept (for the most part) clean and healthy. It's all about technique with the kit and organisation to keep those 'avoidable' costs down.

I'm still working on the organized part... Thanks for watching!

Wish I lived out that way I would do the same trip. I have done some of the mods you have done and really like that the Honda is reliable regardless of service intervals. I only have about 1k miles on mine at this point but I have 4 other bikes to ride as well. I am getting back in the dirt again that is long overdue and its been since I was in my teenage years and 20's I just hit 51. You have inspired me to get back into this type of riding, ty.

Great idea of the flex tube to drain the oil and the Flexi funnel! Good on the road oil changes.

This vid should have been dedicated to all those who bought a different bike because of the “Insane” service intervals. It really is incredible how many trouble-free miles that dirt-bike gets.

Great idea! Maybe for the 20,000 mile review.

The inconvenience of that 15 minute service saved the weight of carrying a passenger through the ugly stuff. Fair trade depending on where you ride IMO.

All the uninformed CRF/EXC “daily” oil change critics should watch how little effort and time it took with your change. I change my 500 at 2500 km or thereabouts. Note how easily John laid his bike down for the service. All you twin owners take note.

I wouldn’t wanna do that with my BMW. 😬

I just did a 1800 mile 49 hour trip on my 450exc and no oil chnage...oil didn't look bad. I normally do it every 25 hours....but 50 hours is fine IMO. Love the channel.

Hey John, thanks for the travel vids! How many miles have you been getting out of your chains/sprockets?
@JohnTYoung2 жыл бұрын
10K or so as I recall.

@@JohnTYoung Thanks! I just replaced the original on my '22 RL @ 5000 miles. It was getting a lot of side play in it and was approaching the rear of the adjustment. I've got the feeling I may have set it a little too tight once . . . We'll see how this next one stands up. ✌️😎

Mine was shot at 3000 miles. You must be good at taking care of them.

A bigger foot for your kick stand?

It seems to work fine as stock. If I need more I usually kick a rock under it.
