Fuck bro the hiker comment....in defence of the part time bodybuilders/hikers I think it's good to realise that if bodybuilding isn't going to be a career, other hobbies out of the walls of the gym are important for mental health and ultimately longevity in a bodybuilding lifestyle. It's a long lonely road and a career only the elite will make money from...not all your listeners are ifbb pros. I agree with everything your saying, I'm sure you've ranted before about it but the biggest thing I've seen in gyms that has changed effort levels is mobile phone use

... "The idea is that this is to become normal to you" ... another great Wyck-ism! Your rant is justified: we live in a world of "hacks" e.g. there's some "secret" short cut to success, be it body building or otherwise. I find that if I don't fear the next set, I'm not setting the goal high enough. There is no hack; and failure is only a learning experience.

I love it. A friend of mine took it as disrespect. Some people just don’t know what it takes, thinks it’s easy, and does the typical bullshit. I’m gonna have salads and “sugar free” drinks. Lol. Then lifting heavy dumbbells like that’s gonna do anything but hurt your joints and tendons.

Before anyone comments on my comment. I’ve been 240 with abs and im 5’11 . Im 31 been training since 17. Worked out 10 years on Long Island worlds gym with Dave palumbo and alot of real big guys. Grew up around them. We trained similar to branch and Ronnie. Very very heavy .. not the best form but always did 5-10 reps but real fucking heavy. 45 min . Zero talking. Almost throwing up. Grunting , yelling , bar bending weight. I stumbled along Mike and have been watching his video and I have changed how I worked out. I think the branch heavy / okish form is great style to build a solid core and base. Once you have that power and core this style of training is far superior . I’ve been lifting heavy for a decade , never hurt myself always got a good sweat and knew how to lift . over the last 4 months I have lowered the weights let’s say 315 every week for 5-6 incline press to 185-225 focus on form .. 10-15 reps , locked lat , head back push away. I have never had a chest pump like that in over a decade old lifting. Side delts- I used to do 40-50 easily for reps with pretty good form .. my delts would hurt for 1-2 day . I switched it up , caved in chest , shoulders over hips , throwing the weight out , with shoulder rolled forward . I did 20 lbs for like 3 sets for 12 . My delts were sore for literally 10 days. I think mikes football heavy training and my heavy training was a good base for beginners and I would recommended getting a good solid core . 5 sets - 5 reps - style and 1-2-3 year later do this style and you’ll be a killer PS I worked out 6 years before I did a cycle and I only did one cycle . 500mg of test for 12 weeks to break through a Plato All the young kids work out for a while before messing with peds . Mike keep up the good work , it was eye opening for me , and fuck everyone with an opinion. Your trainers need trainers. I work out in boca raton LA fitness. I see 155 lb trainers doing some of the most ridiculously Shit I’ve ever see. And everyone stay off your fucking phones at the gym , no one gives a fuck , no one’s impressed with a 225 back row. Who are the workout video for ??? And 16 year olds stop trying to deadlift 315 for 1.
