If you want a good addition, you ought to have a few kegs with taps for it...that's where your ales and beers would likely be served from. Craft Barrels are really cheap to just buy if you don't want to make them from scratch.

A large Bugbear in an apron finally steps out with your order, " Sowee it took so lawng. I'm nawt ah wezurd. Had to enovate yur drank frum scratch. " A large drink of boiling amber liquid is placed in front of you with a heavy ' thud '. It smells of spices and hard liquor...and something you can't quite place. The chicken nuggets seem adequate to order. What do you do?

The fireplace needs what every good fantasy inn has...an animal head! Either a common animal like an elk or boar, or something exotic like a dragon.

A note on the bread. The score marks on bread are from relief cuts to control where the bread splits when baking and are lighter than the surrounding crust. With the wash accumulating in the divot these are more like patisseries (melon pain, conchlas, etc.) or slabs of meat with grill marks than loafs. Not a bad thing, just something to be aware of if you or someone at your table is going to be anal about those kinds of details.

21:10 Wyloch relating to his audience on a fundamental level. Honestly man I love your limitation breeding innovation line too, in the last year or so I've toyed with a 3d printer and honestly.. its not for me. Wracking my brain over how to scale household furniture better for a Dwarf is so much more my cuppa tea than just printing something appropriate. Keep up the great work.

New subscriber but loving the work and videos. Honestly the ending made me a bigger fan, showing the realism of how we do these things and that we are not all professionals who can do everything in a single shot. Edits need to be done and mistakes in painting and talking occur. What matters is the connection and the honesty we provide those who want to learn and be inspired. So thank you!

Great job as always brother, please don’t ever stop making videos ever again! Hitting your craft wood products with a single pass or so of a low grit (rough) sandpaper really quick will give a wonderful bit of texture that also takes stain and dry brush really well and goes great with the actual grain. I actually have a tavern that is almost identical in both approach and style as this. A tavern is an essential location and will blow the minds of your next dnd party when you pull it out and will almost certainly be your most used bit of terrain you could ever have.

I just recently made some cheese wheels using your technique and it turned out great. The only difference I didnt use the paper straws like you did. Rather I used some color plastic straws to represent different types of cheese wheels. I used red for cheddar cheese, orange straw for guoda, black straw for dark cheddar and a dark red straw or purple for sharp cheddar and green straw for goat cheese. That way it looks like the wax seal you find on different types of cheese

The thing about painting things at 28mm scale is that, 99% of the time, people are going to be looking at the objects from three feet away or more, under less than ideal lighting. So long as you give the rough approximation of what it's supposed to be, human pattern recognition will fill in the blanks. Still, these are some fine spreads, Wyloch. Something bound to supply a sumptuous feast, or attract all manner of monsters. (The techniques for making bread, cheese, and produce can also be employed when building market stalls, or to top piles of supply crates.)

I love this sort of set dressing- it comes out absolutely gorgeous. :D For my own games, I've drifted away from it over time- To use the stage parlance, I build all of the set, but none of the props. Tables but no chairs or dishes, walls but no paintings, buildings but no snow or moss if I can help it. That way I can use the same base pieces whether it's snowy, rainy, dingy, clean, or spooky. I definitely miss a bit of the tiny detail work, though- almost enough to just do full-on non game dioramas. XD

I absolutely love this video! One small critique, is that the bread looks more like grilled meat (which isn’t an issue in and of itself). When bread is opened like that, the inside is lighter, with the crust darker. I was wondering the best way to get that effect, maybe a base coat of white and dry brush of a brown to leave the recesses white, which might be difficult with the washes.
