@@jackmitchell882 I`m from India and a huge fan of Wynton Marsalis. I never thought I would have an opportunity to hear him perform live.But, as luck would have it, I was fortunate to watch him perform live in Abudhabi in '17 , just weeks before I was to return back home for good from a work assignment. The sad part, however, was that there was a pre-concert workshop where I could have met him and maybe even taken a picture with him. But I was waiting at the wrong location for quite long and finally got to know that the workshop had already gotten over and he was gone ( to the stage to perform). Never know, maybe there could be another time

That trumpet looks like it came from “Joes” pawn and junk shop. No shine, nothing fancy, just played by a god making the sound of heaven through simple things. I’m also going to copy paste my comment to Oscar Peterson here.........The trail of notes, the sounds, are unpredictable to my ears. That’s part of what excites me listening to this level of talent. How does he / they know where to go next, the perfect inevitable note is always there and is such a perfect joyful surprise for me following him / them down the rabbit hole.
@rumikazbar82285 жыл бұрын
Wynton's trumpet is crafted by a master trumpet maker, dave monette. It is definitely fancy, as well as played by a genius. The mouthpiece has the same story. They were brought to him by dave monette along with a few other mouthpieces for wynton to try. The one he chose is what he is playing here.
