There are some areas in the Tin Cup/Sweetwater Arch area where red corundum (aka ruby) has been found. Nothing terribly large or gem quality but that does not mean it is not there. It would be nice to add to the collecting video some footage of how the specimines turned out once cut, polished, or cabbed.

You have a great video here. I had no idea you can find Jade in Wyoming. Your format is what I like. A rock show learning about something new for me. On to your hunt along your day, then a little history lesson about the region. Good Luck to you and your adventures.

Iron stained quartz...not jasper. And Jasper all over Oregon and Wa along with Jade, Jadite. That black is obsidian in quartz.
@wyomingadventures2 жыл бұрын
@@michellepernula872 you're wrong. Wyoming has different colors of jade. And black jade is very common in central Wyoming. I have found it myself many times. That's rind on the jade. He did find jasper there too. I have found both in that area.

I guess that I don't understand the fascination with jade. I would personally rate it lower than good jasper, banded iron, or petrified wood. Does it really hold much value and if so what do people do with it besides sell it to other folks that think it's worth something? It seems very plain on its own so I guess its value comes after somebody makes it pretty. Btw, I have been back two weeks from my trip up your way to find what you find and it would take too long to tell you the details here..but it was great.
