Decades ago, a friend collected a 55 gallon barrel full of BIF from the hillsides above the river, near Miracle Mile. He traded the barrel full of rock for a new 18 inch slab saw! I've collected there myself, and you could fill a 55 gallon barrel pretty quickly! It's lovely stuff, but awfully dirty when you cut and grind it! Thanks for sharing!

I would love to trade rocks for a saw that would be amazing. Are you from Wyoming?
@tedpreston41553 жыл бұрын
@@wyomingstoneranger2920 Yes. I lived there for 45 years. Rock River, Yoder, Torrington, Laramie and Cheyenne. But my favorite place in Wyoming is the Sweetwater Rocks, and the rest of the jade fields.

Last I knew that whole area is claimed. Be sure you aren't claim jumping because the claim holder owns all of the minerals.

@@ModernProspector Often true but a valid claim has to have corner posts and a discovery monument to be valid and to put the public on notice that a claim has been filed. Also, lots of folk may file a claim but fail to do, document, and file their annual assessment work. It takes a fair amount of work at the state BLM office to determine if any particular claim is valid or not. If someone has not placed and maintained their corner posts and done their annual assessment work it is considered an invalid claim and open for reclaiming under the 1872 mining law.
