The whole "I have nothing to hide" mentality is absolutely nuts, you don't care if some stranger is watching over you and your wife rocking your baby to sleep? Do you even hear yourself? Just because I have nothing to hide doesn't mean anyone has permission to see.
@TheNetGuy4 жыл бұрын
I hear you. Show me a system that is 100% secure and I’ll show you one that is completely unusable ;) My statement wasn’t meant to be that we should give up our rights to privacy or not expect vendors to do a very good job with security, BUT hacking will happen. If I don’t feel comfortable with something every making it outside of my home - I don’t create the opportunity. Thanks for watching and your insightful comment! 🤔

I had this camera a few months ago with peoples voices on it, heard it through my headphones. I even brought it to my local police station. Honestly forget even considering Wyze, their cameras aren’t safe and cannot be trusted. I was a bit paranoid after that happened like I thought my house was going to get robbed. Luckily not. Whoever was on that camera did not have authorized access and was no one I knew.
@ElChicleSeMePego Жыл бұрын
So creepy. I believe this happened to me, theres noone else listed on the access to the camera - yet they spoke through it to my child. Now I have a pistol fuzed to my side.

Thank you for sharing this! my buddy has been a big user of the Wyze products, and we just started using their cameras in our home this past week. Going to be doing a video for my real estate clients on how to set up home security cameras and home automation for the more frugal homeowners (like myself).

Thanks for watching Nick and thanks for leaving a comment. They’re great units - the ecosystem is where it’s at. Switch’s, bulbs, door locks, sensors and cameras. They’re working on an outdoor solution right now apparently ... and maybe even a thermostat rumor has it :)

I got the wyze cam and the thing I hate is that the motion detection is only 12 seconds long
@TheNetGuy5 жыл бұрын
Well, the free cloud motion detection is 12 seconds. No other camera vendor offers anything close/better than that. For $5 you can toss a 32gb microsd card in and get days of unlimited storage. They’re also offering more storage for a small fee if you have the bandwidth and don’t want to use sd cards. Very flexible.
@LostPlanetYoutube5 жыл бұрын
@@TheNetGuy yes i bought mine as a bundle and it came with a 32GB micro sd card but i still could never go past 12 seconds. Then i switched it to "local storage" so it would just record all day... i just want longer motion recording time. I had recorded one event where my room mate went into my room but i couldnt see anything after 12 seconds!. so annoying. if you know of a camera that goes longer than 12 seconds please let me know.
@warachito4 жыл бұрын
Lost Planet Films i think you dont understand how it works. Put the SD in. And select always record. When you gets a notification, just select playback at the bottom. It will show you all of the recording of that event, of course more than 12 sec

Then realized while she was here it was not her...I just got home right now and I moved it to face the wall away from us. Well, it half an hour after getting home it was moved again so its facing ME and my Child watching TV in the living room. Called the wife only to be told shes NOT EVEN ON THE APP! 2 days and it Hacked and yes Motion sensor is off and NIGHT MODE WOULD NOT TURN OFF no matter what I did. Never using these units again.

I’ve seen KZbin reviewers where they cover the QR Code on the device and some don’t. What’s the risk there? Can someone hack your cameras if they or your visitors to your home scan or take a photo of that code? Thanks. I just subscribed after seeing this Wyze video promoted on my KZbin home page. I love the possibilities of Wyze even though they are not yet available in Australia 🇦🇺.

Wyze doesn’t have 2 factor authentication. It’s still easily hacked. I wouldn’t waste my time with their products unless you don’t mind people watching you. My family had someone waking up my kids in the middle of the night through the camera.

In this case it looks like they used default settings that exposed private data publicly. Simple mid configuration. You are exactly right though - I can’t tell you how many people I know reuse passwords far and wide and then react when something bad happens.
