Step into the pitch meeting that started the X-Men franchise! Subscribe to our channel: goo.gl/ho3Hg6
Years before the Marvel Cinematic Universe started and the superhero craze really kicked into high gear, Fox struck gold with the X-Men franchise, introducing the film world to amazing mutant characters like Wolverine, Professor X, Rogue, Cyclops, Mystique, Magneto, Sabretooth, Rogue, Storm and many more. The movie was enough to kick off a whole series of movies spanning over two decades, but that doesn’t mean it’s not without its questionable decisions. What’s up with Xavier not using Cerebro or his powers to their full potential? Why is Magneto so selfish with his anti-telepathy helmets? Why is Storm so bad at cracking jokes? To answer all these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to the year 2000’s X-Men movie! It’s super easy, barely an inconvenience.

I like to think the whole reason he's doing the Newton's cradle thing is to practice his control. If you remember his origin story, he learned his powers in a very traumatic moment and used them in a big way, but had trouble using them in small ways for quite a while. Manually controlling a Newton's cradle to that much precision at all times past exercise quite a bit of control on his part. I like to believe he practices control as sort of a post-traumatic coping mechanism to assure himself he's not that same person he was as a kid.

Other Man 1: There are thousands of channels talking about movies. Man 1: Yeah, but in this one, we dress super douchey and pretend to be movie executives. Other Man 1: Well we are pretty douchey. What else? Man 1: That’s it. Other Man 1: Okay. Who else is going to do it with us? Man 1: No one. We have no friends and can’t afford to pay someone. Other Man 1: But you realize we’re the same person, right? Man 1: So? Other Man 1: We have the same voice. If people turn the quality down to 144, they’re not going to be able to tell the difference between us. Man 1: One of us will wear glasses. Other Man 1: Whatever. So we’ll hire someone later, once we have more subscribers? Man 1: Maybe. Other Man 1: Sigh.

I highly suggest you do a pitch meeting for Jumper, it had a cool premise but the screenwriters made it super easy and barely an inconvenience for the protagonists to win

Do a pitch for Brick. A movie about high school kids taking life way too seriously, chasing after drug dealers and speaking in some 1920's lingo. What a great movie.

Apparently Storm's line to Toad originally had build-up and "what happens to Toads" was going to be a running joke throughout the film, but it was cut, so all we got was a punch-line with zero context.
