Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I'm your host Paul and this video we're breaking down X-men 97.

Episode 4 and 5 had two big cliffhangers and the first of these are something we're gonna explore now. Life Death part 2 is cooking up a Storm and we watch as two characters Forge an alliance. That's against a villain that we'll touch upon in just a bit but in this video we're gonna break it all down. This includes the easter eggs, comic book references and everything you might have missed in the episode. Heavy Spoilers ahead so if you don't want it ruined then I recommend you turn off now. Now as always we get the intro playing out with a couple of additional shots thrown in. These often reference things from the original and help to show what direction the episode is gonna go. For example episode 2 had the Morlocks appearing while 4 had the episode where Jubilee fought Mojo.
Last week had Cable popping up before he popped up and I wish he'd shown up to warn me that these mutants were Exodus and Frenzy instead of letting me say we thought it might be Azazel. Thanks a f**king bunch Cable.

Avenger 5 will end with the multiverse being destroyed and battleworld being created. The way I viewed it, Forge’s initial cure for Storm to get her powers back actually did work, but it was her own psyche that prevented her from accessing them. She was able to unlock her abilities by overcoming adversity and denying the Adversary’s power over her.

What an incredible episode. It's truly cinematic and Storm's rebirth felt like Man of Steel with her taking flight but going through that beautiful change. Also the opening montage sequence with continuing to tell stories of classic episodes from One Man's Measure to X-Factor to The Phoenix Force to Nightcrawler appearing in the opening credits just amazing. Getting to see Nimrod coming out of Master Mold from the future being sent into the past like the T-1000 to assassinate Charles Xavier.

Here's a theory.... if it is the big "A" coming. That would make sense when we saw Charles vision of Gambit since Gambit was one of Apocalypse's horsemen. He was Death at one point. So could that be how they bring him back? As Death, then leading that into the next season they have to save him? Could be interesting way to bring him back .

I’m glad Storm got her powers back due to her overcoming adversity. It makes sense. In the comics, it took her nearly 4 years to get her back. Also, the Kymellians show up in the scene where Professor X and Lilandra were walking in the garden too. They first appeared in Power Pack #1 in 1984. I’ve always wanted a Power Pack movie.😊👊🏾

48, and these are the comics I read that have made me a lifelong fan of X-Men. It's awesome to see when the source material is adapted by creators who honor and pay homage to it. It's also extremely nostalgic. I can't say enough about how good this show has been. I hope Marvel films is taking notes for when they finally decide to bring X-Men into live action.

Spoiler: They are setting up the Age of Apocalypse storyline that appeared at the end of 'Wolverine and the X-Men'. Literally wouldn't be surprised if they dusted off the script for the unmade second season and adapted it. Basically they need to reintroduce Psylocke, Colossus, Iceman, Bishop and Arcangel and split into Blue and Gold I think.

The original cartoon told a story about what would happen if the Professor was assassinated. It was this cartoon-exclusive story that served as the inspiration for the Age of Apocalypse storyline in the comics. So in short: AoA has already been done.

I don't know how I feel about Storm getting her powers back so easily and this soon. In the comics, the years Storm was without her powers were some of the most important character building moments for her to be come the great leader she is. She led the X-Men and Morlocks through the mutant massacre with the Mauraders all without having powers just to state an example. It makes me wonder what was the point of stripping her of powers if they were going to just give them back without exploring that momentous period in Storm's life.

The way they show magic in the show just proves to me that at some point they're going to connect this to the MCU cuz the representation of the magic forge was doing is literally the exact same way it's shown in the MCU with the golden rings and the sparkles and all that shit

Some of the lines were so cleverly worded, or just well-written. "Performative act of Jingoism" is *so* Charles. And as for "You may bark later"? Horny AF and hilarious. But frankly, I'm still reeling from that stunning line delivery which closed last week's episode. The way she emoted while uttering the line with that Roguish, musical lilt - only this time soaked in sorrow. "Sugah...I can't FEEL you" I mean, is there an award for best line reading by a voice actor in an Animated Television Series? Because that wins. Hands down.

Wondering if Vulcan's appearance combined with Storm's retro costume are hints that we might get some rendition of Second Genesis/Deadly Genesis. Nightcrawler is joining the team (we've also seen either in cameos, call backs, or intro scenes all the team members of Second Genesis except for Thunderbird).
