IIRC, the gun he typically used in the 90s was powered by his mutant ability. He didn’t need to use it but it allowed him to channel his energy blasts more accurately. Can’t remember if they ever showed this in the cartoon

I grew up with the movies and after watching this show, I'm seeing so many things that were used in the movies too. @@Cazz8203 and later both he and Changeling (the original 60s character that 90s cartoon Morph was based on) served as a base for the Age of Apocalypse/Exiles Morph whose body is a white morphic material like silly putty. It seems that this Morph now has that trait from the one that came later.

@@uncannydcmarvelous5732 He wasn't based on Changeling. They just wanted to use the code name. The character was completely original. The 1967 Changeling would've only shared a name, no biographical history. When they discovered the name was also used by DC, they just went with Morph. Morph was a completely new character who was supposed to loosely reference an older character in name and in power, but would've been completely different biographically. Regardless, the AoA Morph that came after the animated series attempted to tie the three characters together as different versions of the same person. But that was done retroactively.

The 3D "fake 2D" animation is gonna take a minute to get used to but i dig. I'm pretty sure they got the animator who did the Xmen: Xavier Protocol videos before they (Disney/Marvel) hit him with a copyright claim.
