The after credit scene connects to THREE FILMS technically. It connects to DEADPOOL 2, NEW MUTANTS, and LOGAN. Essex Corp is the background antagonist of all three films, and it's believed FOX had a plan to eventually have Nathaniel Essex (aka Mr. Sinister) himself be a villain in an X-MEN film after Dark Phoenix. His first appearance was planned for the GAMBIT film. But as we know, none of that ever happened.

I don't know about the comics, but in the animated series Apocalypse was shown as having total molecular control over his body, allowing him to change size and strength at will. He also had one of the best pieces of dialogue even with mutant hating Senator Kelly. Kelly: You're one of them! A mutant! Apocalypse: I am as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you.

I really feel bad for Olivia Munn as Psylocke in this movie. Olivia proved in The Newsroom that she is a good actress, and she’s a massive fan of the character from the comics, but instead they did to her what they ironically did with Mystique in the first 3 movies, make her eye candy they does a couple of cool things then disappears, only in this case never to be seen again.

This movie shows why all the X-Men movies went downhill after DOFP Mystique’s last words in First Class were “mutant and proud” yet she is almost never in her true blue mutant form, and she should never be thought of as a hero, she’s an unpredictable antihero at best. The real reason for all of this is because Jennifer Lawrence became such a superstar and Fox wanted to capitalize on that popularity by making Mystique into a hero loved by everyone. They also made the mistake of jumping another 10 years because all the characters from First Class should be in their late 40’s or early 50’s yet they all look, sound and act like they’re in their 20’s or 30’s. And finally Apocalypse was very badly mishandled. They never acknowledge the fact that he uses alien technology to enhance himself even after they show all of the Celestial technology in the beginning, including his armor. And Oscar Issac barely gets enough screen time to properly flesh out one of the greatest villains in comic history.

Rumor has it that Sinister was originally going to be the villain in The New Mutants but that was scrapped just like the entire Fox X-Men universe after Disney bought them. At least we got Deadpool and Wolverine later.

Yeah Mr. Sinister was behind taking wolverine's DNA, he was behind the child mutants including x23 in Logan, he was the owner of the orphanage in deadpool 2, and he was the boss they were taking orders from in New mutants. Not sure what they were building to with him but it's too bad we never got it see it.

You're partially right Andrew. Mystique was indeed Nightcrawler's mother at one point in the comics, and his father was Azazel(the red teleporter from First Class). However, that was retconned for some reason and that genetic relation is no longer canon. Jennifer Lawrence and Nick Holt only agreed to do this one and the next one if they didn't have to be in full makeup the whole time like they were prevuously. This was due to application process being several hours long and fairly unpleasant for both of them.

As you've probably already learned, the post-credits scene isn't what you thought. It's a reference to Nathan Essex aka Mister Sinister. There's another reference to him in New Mutants. I believe there were plans to make him a big bad in an X-Men sequel, but the Disney buyout happened.

In the comics, Apocalypse was an attempt by the writers to give the xmen their own Thanos/Darkseid. Some readers liked the character. And some stories weren't too bad. In my opinion though, it outlasted its welcome, faaaaarrrr more than the Spiderman clone saga(s). (And i am one of the fans of those...but not so much apocalypse.)

But in this one, I felt a sense of worry that Quicksilver wasn't going to save everyone because he is facing against a massive explosion on the entire school and the speed of the explosion is just as fast as him so it's more intense.

Anytime Charles and Eric interact in this, I am just stuck on the screen. Apocalypse has some great moments for both characters. My biggest missed potential moment though is Quicksilver not telling Eric who he is. I would have been a mess. Great video as always!

I hate to say this but Andrew was just so annoying in this reaction. He completely confused Tara with Kick-Ass to the point she switched off- and considering how irrelevant the trivia was, it wasn't worth taking her mentally out of the movie to start thinking about other movies. I think I heard Andrew talking more than the actors in the movie. I'm sure in her mind Tara was just sat there saying to herself 'just shut up!'. My crazy theory about all X-Men movies: A lot of people believe that the x-men timelines are messy, but it's one timeline because I think all the mutants and humans' minds are wiped out from Professor X. Xavier wiped their minds from previous incidents and missions like the Cuba mission, the Phoenix attack, and the Pentagon incident. Some of the missions from the first X- men through Logan are pretty intact, but the past missions are wiped thanks to Xavier. Like they say, Professor X have the most powerful minds ever. The only one who knows everything is Xavier.
