When I first saw Oya in the comics, I thought she was the daughter of Equinox. While he's not a mutant, he has similar powers with the bonus of super strength. He also has a daughter who was a mutant with at least fire and ice powers.

I didn't take to her during Schism, with the "we're monsters" schtich feeling like jaded, grim-dark fodder to me (post-Decimation was rough, y'all). But those feelings softened over time, and I'm all for her getting her "edge" back this way.

So she can control fire and ice from either side of her body? Or is this an error in some of the drawings? Can she project from one side at a time only? For instance, can she shoot fire from both hands at the same time?

Has there been a reason given for them not mentioning Orphan Maker and Nanny in the pitt with Sabertooth in the series yet or have I simply missed it?

I think what we’re reading of the Sabertooth series so far takes place before Nanny and Orphanmaker are exiled (since the series starts right as Sabertooth was exiled, which happens at the start of Hox/PoX). I’m sure they’ll show up later on when we catch up with the time!

Oya reminds me of Shoto Todoroki because he controls Fire and ice too. Unlike Oya, Shoto was born in a quirk marriage between Enji Todoroki aka Endeavor and Rei Todoroki.

Most likely because Oya was the inspiration for Shoto since she was created first, especially since the creator of My Hero Academia is a big Marvel comics fan.
