I fell in love with Nekra when I first saw her in Spider-Woman’s book as a child! (There were so few Black super villainesses in the 70’s) I even designed a figure for her when I interviewed to join the action figure team at Hasbro in 2006!

If they ever do an All Black X-Men team, Nekra would make a great wildcard addition given her negativity vampire powers IMO. The character differently deserves a bigger and consistent push in the X-Men Comics. There can only be so many stories about the usual characters , i.e Wolverine(s) and Deadpool...

@@TheRealArrendondoShe isn’t albino. If she was, her hair would be white as well. Whilst that definition does get put, her skin colour is due to radiation from the place her mum worked. That’s also the origin of Mandrill’s powers but… we will not talk about him. The thing with Nekra is that her calling herself albino got the white supremacist, the grim reaper, to fetishise her. It wasn’t a healthy relationship.

I'm starting to suspect that you would kick a whole lot of ass with a non-X-men, Marvel/Avengers comic focused sister channel. I'm loving the focus on the pit exiles! I read some interview with Victor LaValle where he mentioned asking the art team to emphasize Nekra's African features, with a (recently deceased singer) Betty Davis as a visual reference.

In reality, Nekra appeared before Selene. Nekra appeared in the 70’s in Shanna the She Devil’s last issue. Meanwhile, Selene first debuted in the 80’s in New Mutants
