One of my favorite villain quotes is from this film from Magneto, “I’ve been at the mercy of men just following orders. Never again.” That shows his entire agenda. Amazing performance by Michael Fassbender.

after seeing his performance, in good conscious I cant imagine anyone else as a young magneto and I truly hope after Ian McKellen either retires or passes away, Michael can continue into the same age as Ian when he started his time X-Men.

He and Sir McKellen both made the 'concentration camp survivor' aspect of Magneto's backstory believable. The Last Stand was a bit of a mess, but the scene expressing his aversion to tattoos was not only the high point of the film, but a high point for the series as a whole.
