(In MvC1 EX Edition on the PSone, you had your pick of the main roster [Partner Heroes] or helpers [Special Heroes] as your second character...a Variable Cross using her was SICK [Psithrusts all day]... especially if you had a main character with a beam super...and especially if said main was Shadow Lady.)

Max, COTA wasn't the first game to use neither Anime like sprites or Chain combos, that was Darkstalkers/Vampire 1 who was released on July 1994, COTA was December 1994, however what COTA did was implementing a better use of the Guage meter, wich later was implemented in Night Warriors/Vampire Hunter (the meter guages look in these 2 games are almost identical) the only difference is that in Night Warriors you can get multiple level of meters but the bar fills WAY slower than COTA

Captain Marvel is a big name character these days, and she's getting a movie soon. Fun fact: Did you know Rogue doesn't normally have the power to fly or use super strength? She actually stole those powers from Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. You know, using her ACTUAL super power, which is the ability to steal super powers. I remember playing this game when I was 5 or 6, ON AN ARCADE POD! I played Psylocke and passed through each level until I fought Colossus. The PS1 version of X-Men: Children of the Atom wasn't just missing Frames of Animation. The Endings for each character were nowhere to be found too. It abruptly cuts to the credits after the "Avalon" station blows up and you're left wondering who's alive afterward. I own both versions and I can vouch that the Sega Saturn port is far superior but mainly because the PS1 version felt like a playable yet incomplete afterthought.

Strider Reborn All fighting for the Sega Saturn were perfect ports! That consel was so underrated & really shined with imports. One of top 3 best consels IMO

Strider Reborn Yeah, even though it COULD do 2D fighters, it wasn't very good at it (just look at XvSF/MSHvSF/MvC1 EX Edition or even Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro), as it wasn't built to do 2D...its primary purpose was to do 3D, which Sony thought everyone wanted. Conversely, the Saturn could do 3D, but it wasn't very good at it because it was made with 2D as it's main purpose. So naturally, stuff like the VS Series, The King of Fighters, and so on would turn out almost arcade perfect. Hell, even the supremely hard to find (and really expensive) Saturn version of Street Fighter ZERO3 blows the PSone version out the water by having larger sprites, the ability to have completely different characters in Dramatic Battle, and making R-Dramatic Battle a playable thing.

I never said the gameplay was terrible on the PS1, but if you wanted a more concentrated Arcade Experience of the game from a presentation standpoint, the Sega Saturn version at the time was the best way to do it. (Nowadays we either use emulators or see the endings on youtube.)
