Its sad to see this franchise drop its potential time and time again. You'd figure at some point, as more examples of comic book adaptations came along, the films would improve. Still, whoever casted these characters deserves some recognition.

I saw it and I don't remember anything about it at all or X-men 2 either. Wow that sad.

Recently watched the original X men films (Film 4 and Sky have been showing most X men films in UK) and I find it unusual how Professor X gets taken out in all three of the original films just for plot convenience. Also I feel that the MCU won't be able to explore the X men with how Humans react to Mutants as in it, superheroes have publicly existed for about 10 - 15 years (post End Game it's 2023) with Iron Man while superheroes have been on Earth since Captain America and Captain Marvel and the only hero that people have hated on mass in it is Hulk and even he's liked now.

They could do it easily if they took today's American political climate into consideration. A previously silent chunk of the population becomes reinvigorated and launches attacks on mutants, just as the white supremacists/racists/hyper-conservatives are doing currently with previously agreed on statements like "Mexicans aren't inherently scary and dangerous", and "vaccinations are good" lol. It could be done.

They had an episode of the 90s Spiderman, where the X-MEN showed up as cameos. And the crowd cheered and loved Spider-Man and with the same breath were all "gross mutants". So It can be done that they can be okay with superheroes, but not with mutants. Heck, Spiderman at the beginning of the episode believed he was above being a mutant because he wasn't born with his powers.

Prof X gets taken in all the films lol. DoFP, he's got the cure and is a sad, mopey boy. Apocalypse, he's capture and hairy-to-baldy boy. It's quite fascinating.

It's absolutely not better than Spider-Man 3. In that, at least you understand why every character is acting that way.

With Robat Battingbat becoming the new Batman can you guy's watch the pre Adam West Batman episode from the 40's that was for some reason wedged inbetween Ghostbusters 1 & 2 on the VHS sold/ I got given around Xmas 1990. For 5 years I fastforwarded it to get to GB2 so no rush. Keep up the excellent work lads!!!

I'm still sad that the Spider-man trilogy of tragedy didn't squeeze in making a deal with the actual Devil to erase all of it at the end

This movie is god awful. X-men 1 helped launch a genre. X-men 2 is pretty amazing. Can’t say 3 is somehow a step above. It’s trash.

Still a better movie than Dark Phoenix.

Not in terms of storytelling, characterization, and mental health representation. The Last Stand is very ableist for how it depicts mentally ill people.

@@agentofchaos7456 I can see that perspective. Jean Grey does get more screentime in DP than TLS. However, I do feel in regards of acting, score, action, humor, a storyline level with the cure, it was just more interesting and entertaining. Not great, fun enough. Similar to how I feel about Apocalypse. Also, with it being the 3rd movie and end of a "trilogy" I did care for the characters. Unfortunately, I didn't care much for the characters in Dark Phoenix, especially the younger version of Jean Grey b/c so little time was spent developing her b/t the last X-Men movie, Apocalypse, and now. I think it was just a bad call to do this particular storyline as one movie and not two. Honestly, another story / villian would have been a better choice for the final film in the Fox X-Men series.

@@Dohsoda Dark Phoenix was meant to be the start of a Dark Phoenix Saga of films. There is a section about this on its Wikipedia page. It being the last X-Men movie was nothing more than a marketing ploy according to the filmmakers and Fox executives. I'm sure you've hear about the recent news on Deadpool 3? That proves it wasn't designed to be the last X-Men movie.
