I would say the luckiest people in SE Asia are the Singaporeans...well taken care of by the government, good living environments , high standards of living, 91% of citizens own a home ....good healthcare system, top notch education, so many things to be grateful for...God bless Singapore 🇸🇬❤️

如果身体正常命好, 吃得再不健康也 boh laksa 🤣。 如果命不好,吃一点点煎炸就会中招。

For singles & expats working in SG it is possible to cook dinner at home for a healthy meal. It needs a little effort to organize well and not be choosy about the taste / method of cooking. Here’s some suggested tips: Firstly when u bought your fish, meats, veg etc, u need to pack them in into meal portions before popping them into the refrigerator. When it comes to cooking, you can pre-cook your soup base and also preoare your veg and pre-wash the rice & drain them the night before. Of course u need to pop the prepared veg & rice back into the fridge. So the next night I just heat up your soup base and put in the pre-prepared veg into it, cook the rice in microwave or also put into the soup base & u can have porridge. Alternatively, buy a slow cooker and pop everything into it in the morning before u leave for work and when u are back form work it’s all cooked and ready.

Aside from physical health, it's good that you brought up the importance of mental health too. 👍

Eating healthy at hawker centres or coffee shops there are a few choices : (1) fish soup with /without noodles or rice (2) Yong toufu with clear soup (don’t order with laksa or Tom yam base broth) with / without rice or noodles. (3) 云吞/ 水饺 面 in soup. (4) economy rice - order red rice with 2 to 3 types of stir fry green veg such as broccoli, etc or steam fish without adding any sauce or curry or braise broth (卤汁)。 (4)drink plain water or if tea / coffee is preferred try to order kosong (no sugar no milk) but if a little sweetness is preferred ask for Siew Siew dai. (Very little sugar)

There are healthy food choices available. Daily Diet is as important as exercises. Btw national service is for boys, girls are optional. You are right to focus on emotional well-being and stresses or depression. You miss on the need in proper and ample rest which is vital to mental health too🎉
