WELL WELL..this is a first from an Aviation KZbinr..first time seeing someone do a glider..love the video and thanks for bringing this to your viewers...very original...took the C-208 around that same area and the views are really spectacular...thanks for the location..

Stunning video as usual! Think I need to get myself the Rift!! I personally really like the intro style you do with different shots of the scenery.

If you get a rift you will not be disappointed! Thanks for the feedback!

I used to fly one of these in real life!..interesting you use the low tow position which is what we do in Australia but in Europe its common for pilots to use the high tow.
@timzo53132 жыл бұрын
that was a fantastic landing but as a general rule for gliding you always want about 10 or 15 knots of more airspeed (maybe more depending on the wind) on final than your speed on the circuit

I have a few hours gliding a few years ago. It looks very realistic. Nice Patrick.

That's awesome! It feels pretty good too when you fly them. I'm not sure how it actual feels in real life but the rudder work you have to put in just feels right you know?

It's about the entire experience buddy. So I personally think you can continue to do what you do. It will be good to give a tour on outskirts of airports according to me.
@TheFlightSimDeck7 жыл бұрын
aravind raghav next video I am doing it like that. We’re going to fly around an island in Europe and then back to the airport.

What turns me off to this slightly is all that stuff that goes with it: the hangar, the tow, the need for a somewhat special landing field, etc. That's why I took up paragliding :-) The glide ratio is worse but the entire aircraft is a backpack (13 kg total) which I can take with me anywhere and I don't have to worry too much about the landing (except the Swiss Landing Rule Number One: always land in the _cut_ grass, or you risk the farmer's wrath). I did go to the Alps several times, it's truly magnificent.

What puts me off paragliding though is the higher risk level. Unless I am wrong you are much more vulnerable to environmental factors and more susceptible to equipment failure when para gliding. What do you think? Do you find paragliding dangerous? Also for gliding if you join a club then the hanger and field is taken care of, and there is also winch launch and bungee launch. I'm going to start learning to fly soon, very exciting!

Enjoyed your offering. Would be interested in the specs you feel are required for immersive flight with VR.

Hi Ken! I would recommend a high end video card. I use a 1080 Ti and i'm still on the 4790k processor. Seems to work out nicely.

The gliding expirience is so good in Xplane ! I should do a video on it !

Does this game simulate thermal lift well then? Can you find lift and climb the bubble? Or is it a steady decent from releasing the tow?

Awesome video and I love the quick look of the airport scenery it gives a sense of placement. I have the Oculus Rift as well and would never go back to a flat screen to do flight simulation because of the immersion, it really is the future of flight simulation. I also have fly inside but I didn't know what you meant at the near beginning of the video when you said that you can use the hand controls to operate the stick, throttle and flip the switches, could you explane please.
@TheFlightSimDeck7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback David! But onto your question. The hand touch controls that come with the Oculus Rift work in P3D. I might do a video demonstrating it to see if it's any good. I'm assuming they work with the XP11 FlyInside too.
@flybe1467 жыл бұрын
I would love to see a video using the touch controllers and P3D but as an X plane user with the Rift, I can tell you that they are very crapy with X-plane that is why most people can't wait to get native VR with x-plane to see if it is better, but it would be great to see what you think.

when it goes to the left like that it does the same thing in real life bro i forgot why it does it but there is a reason why

I watched a few videos and the tow plane stays on the middle line for the most part. I know they turn left when you disengage the rope.

Nice video with a glider. But in real life you would not flown a landing path like that. If you ran in to sinking air you would never reach the airport You would like to come in high and use spoilers to get down. Half to 2/3 spoiler trough the final glide is ok 👍
@TheFlightSimDeck6 жыл бұрын
Thank man! Yeah I knew very little of what I was doing at the time. I'm still a noob but I've gain more knowledge. I think this was one of the first times I used the gliders. I got one of the main glider training books for my birthday so I plan to read that and become better with these.

That's right, we enter downwind with 200m(arround 700ft) AGL then base, and deploy airbrakes in turn to final. If you feellow just retract a little of airbrake. But always keep your airspeed in the green triangle
