Great review......I'm glad I went with DX9. AHAHAHAHA I'll never forget what a nightmare it was for me to get the Fansproject Menasor in combiner mode! This brings back memories. I would rather have stability over paint apps. I do wish DX9 gave us the option to tab in the cars in the front of shins though! X-Transbots menasor head sculpt is legit.

They make 3d-printed shells and an attachment which allows you to put the limbs on the front, but you'll have to talk to them specifically about whether it works for the figures themselves or just the shells he sells. The leg cars tab in super tight. You just have to line up the triangles perfectly so they tab in. They almost click in. Very solid once done. Mine has no loose parts and is very sturdy. Just have to make sure it’s all tabbed in. Took me about a hour to do taking my time. But once done had no loose parts and can pose like a champ.

He looks really cool. The transformation looks complicated and risky. If I had the trailer I would never transformed it out of Menasaur mode. The overall proportions look good as does the poseability. I wonder if the final transformation would have been easier, more stable, and less fragile if they would have abandoned the base gimmick. If any or all of these aspects of the figure improved by nixing the Base mode then it should have been abandoned immediately. I do think it is better looking than the DX-9 one but I'm not sure how it will stand up over time in terms of stability and material stress. That looks like a bit of a gamble. Thanks for posting Mike. I can tell it was NO fun to transform. Glad you made it through all that and he didn't break. That would have been super demoralizing.

LOL still seems the trailer and it’s all modes have an integrity issue especially when it comes to the legs. I hope they come out with a fix that includes better ratcheting for the legs. It needs to be either free or sold at a very discounted rate.

Awesome review! So happy i went with xtb and sold my dx9! This is just amazing! It seems that it came out from the cartoon! Its just a unique piece of engineering! Yes very complex, but we're not kids...its for collectors, and we're all old nerds...so it has to be like this! And its stable, a lot...trust me! Heavy and good materials! If you get the XTB in a pose it stands well but DX9 can be picked up and moved around with no trouble same with Zeta Superion. Moving this one it seems you need to repose it to get it stable again

I'm not gonna lie x-transbots menasor has grown on me, he looks really really good. But I don't like the price changing and the lies that come along with this company. I heard last week that they're raising their prices cause they said they r on par with Fanstoys. And that couldn't be further from the truth. Dx9 just has more correct leg to torso proportions, while xtb looks better in others aspects

Looking at the animation model, they did do a pretty toon accurate legs/torso...but the arms are way too small. If they wanted to finish going all the way with the G1 aesthetic, they definitely should have included the upgrade kit. Personally, I like G1 accuracy for the most part, unless being too slavish makes the bot worse. XTB may have better G1 proportions but you have to ask yourself is it a better figure for it? I'll take DX9's as it just looks like a more balanced figure overall.

I don’t get the lack of stability comments. All my joints are very tight and difficult to move. It dose t move if I pick it up. Stays however it was posed in the first place granted I’m not doing a superhero landing pose but any action pose I’ve tried it’s stayed in.

He does look good Mike, Mine will be here this week. What I was told FansToys will be going the same with their trailer. But you can do G1 and IDW from what Tman and the council were talking about. The XTB looks very G1 and DX9 kind of stylized but he looks good. I fear FansToys will also be a bear, they aren't known for the easiest transformation, I know everyone was griping about the cost but looking FansToys will be closer too 800.00 or more. Awesome review.

Went in on the dx9 just waiting for that Capone reissue. The dx9 definitely lacks a colour pop that the xtrabsbots has but I think the most important thing is stability and that’s where dx9 seems to win. Someone on Instagram did a custom paint job on the dx9 and it makes a big difference.

I sold my XTB Stunticons since I have to make choices due to space issues and I had quite some QC issues with my XTB bots, that made me pull the trigger to go full on FT. Let's wait and see. This is less of a transformation, and more like building a kit. Man, I am glad I never stepped into Xtransbots Stunticons and went with Fanstoys. Don't get me wrong, FT throws challenging transformations our way as well with some of their figures (their Motormaster comes to mind), but it is nowhere as fiddly as this trailer mess.

Should have packed a lunch and had an osha mandated break half way through that transformation. Shame they priced themselves where they did as they were the one menasor that you could easily fudge into either the 18" scale or 20"+ scale. Seems the 18" scale folks only have the small hope RisingForce Menasor actually happens now.

People complain that DX9 is too long, but this is WAY too tall and maybe too wide for me. No way that thing is going under a lot of bridges lol. Just eyeballing it but it looks like Motormaster himself would fit inside his trailer if it was empty. X-transbots missed leg day at the gym. Not impresses with the wobbly mess of it, my NBK gravity builder was pretty much this same stability and it cost me less than 100 for all the bots together

I have both and prefer the more slender look of xtransbots but he’s a floppy mess which makes it inferior to dx9. I’m keeping motor master not attached to help him stand.

I like XTB, I own a lot of XTB products ...but this to me is just engineering spaghetti. Complex engineering isn't always the *best* engineering. After Zeta's combiners, and DX9's Menasor...I will never own a wobbly combiner again. My policy on combiners is the same as dating models ...doesn't matter how good they look if they're unstable lol. Friction joints for a combiner this big and heavy...baaaad idea. Most especially in the hips. I think it's funny how much guff DX9 got about their "trailer former" and now that we know all the Menasor releases seem to be doing a similar thing now...not so many complaints lol. XTB has pluses, but too many minuses for me. I still think considering value, gestalt, individual bots, etc... DX9 still checks the most boxes.

I have to say Mike, I think this Menasor looks better in combined mode than DX9's but I also like the Xtransbots vehicle modes. Looks like DX9 will be combiner, Xtransbots will be vehicle, and Fanstoys will be bot mode. At least for my purposes anyway. Thanks for the review!!!

I prefer my DX9 Menasor with the better size, cartoon accuracy, body proportion, and it's way more stable. The XTransbots version has a prettier face and is better colored.

I'm glad you don't hate it since you bought it (though, I get the sense you are trying to see it in the best light you can CONSIDERING the money you paid) but I am calling this a fail. The trailer alone costs more than DX9 trailer PLUS Motor Master, and given that premium pricing, if it is not unconditionally better than it is a fail. I agree the sculpt and aesthetic is a more mature look, which I prefer, and I am not one to complain about transformation complexity, to me, the more complicated the better. But not at the cost of fiddly instability, and ridicoulously skinny ratchetless hips soon to be slippery. I think I'm better off learning to 3d model and just printing myself a trailer and some combiner parts. This is definitely not gonna be a piece that holds value long-term. Literally looked like if Superion looked at him too hard he would fall over.

Yes he is expensive but looks good. He will stand once posed but not anywhere as solid as DX9. Still need to see what Fanstoys does!

Yikes, that base mode transformation looks like a nightmare... Scratch that. The whole transformation looks like a nightmare. They made this guy unnecessarily complicated to jam the base mode in, looks like.... Sorry, i'm commenting as i watch lol. The faux tires on the legs are bizarre to me. I would guess in time they could easily be broken off... All told it looks pretty damn good combined, though. Definitely has it's strong points but i'm still happy with DX9's Menasor over this. Only thing that I wish DX9's would have more of is alternate faces.
