Thank-you for the look at the accessories. I gave the kit a miss, and after having a look at it I am glad I gave it a miss. 90% of the kit would stay in the box (much like the extras for MP-44), and I think the bulkier arms just accentuates his somewhat undersized bottom half. I like the blast effect, but wouldn't use the wrist lasers. I like his original gun and sword. I don't blame you for not showing the base mode with the extras. I wish it did not even have the base mode. I think there are concessions they had to make to incorporate it. Always appreciate the content.

Great review Mike! Not gonna lie! 80% of all those Accessories will remain in the box. I don't see the point of adding to the overall cost. They should just included all of this with the trailer. Still the Best Menasor IMO.

I didn't finish my xtb menasor. I got the 5 members but no trailer (not going to pay that much). I decided to get a DX9 G2 set instead. I'm getting the fanstoys as well.

Although I disagree STRONGLY with the deceptive pricing on the Trailer, it still comes in under FansToys & will only be slightly more expensive than DX9s. The Bots and Alt modes are Amazing. Do you need the MX12C APack? No. Not really. Some cool parts, but NOT NECESSARY = SAVE your $. BTW that "Combined Gun" is L-A-M-E AS F. Lightning Bolts are cool though. Nice review. Well Done & informative. Did I buy one? Awwww. schucks.... Yes but wish I didn't. Do like the Set & Menaor, but they will be individuals as Menasor is just to small/short.

I purchased the upgrade kit. I wanted the shells and the more samurai looking faces. Everything else is okay I suppose. I might fiddle with them from time to time. But, I kinda see why the kit was separate because they probably would’ve been raked over the coals if they coupled it with the trailer. It is subjective. I wish I could be more excited for this set because I’ve been itching to finish it, but when one of the legs snaps off barely touching it during its first transformation can take the wind out of your sails. Parts are coming Friday but still. But it seems like some of the 3Ps are being plagued by factory issues and poor materials recently.

Yes a breakage can really kill your joy! Still feel odd about transforming these after what happened to me with Dunerider even though I fixed it. You will enjoy this set once you get it fixed and combined

Xtb went up on price and down on quality. I figure this set wouldn't hold together very well so I'm waiting to see if that's true before paying so much for the trailer. I've decided to buy the dx9 set instead and pretty much abandon xtb completely for good. I'm just tired of their bs.

@@kohnfutner9637 Despite the defective screw on mine Xtransbots did get me the parts and everything is all good now. In my opinion, I like the looks and proportions better than Dx9. Overall it’s a solid figure, it’s just over engineered.

Had a buddy throw an offer my way for this set, but I'm torn. He ended up not liking XTB's Menasor as much as he thought he would, wants to get rid of his seconds and get a DX9 set to replace those. I've been pretty critical of this combiner set; there's things to like and things to not like. The thing that's making me reconsider XTB's Menasor is the deal he'd be giving me. Basically $500 + shipping for the bots, trailer, and upgrade kit. Looking around at prices it looks like a great deal, but it's a deal on a Menasor I'm not 100% sure about. On the other hand, there's gotta be a price where the sweet is worth the sour.

Are the figures new or used? I wouldn't pay that for used but if he didn't transform them then you save about $50-$60. You save more if you actually want the "upgrade" kit. But that kit wouldn't interest me very much. I think it's a fair deal if you want it and it's not used/broken and comes with all boxes and accessories. I don't handle my figures with my bare hands and he probably did do that's something to consider.

@@kohnfutner9637 They were seconds he kept MiB. Basically bought one set, and kept the other set unopened in case he didn't like the final results. His original intention being 1 set for gestalt and 1 set for individuals. I decided to chance it and he decided to spring for shipping. I think he said he paid a little over $400 for each set of 5 bots, so I got around half off the trailer and a free upgrade kit on the deal. Upgrade kit is what it is, but I'll take it as a freebie. If I tried to buy all this now tho I'd have to pay out the pooper or wait for the re-releases and probably still pay a bit more anyway. Ideally I want my DX9 figures as individual bots and XTB as Menasor. Been putting in new display cases tho and haven't had him together in gestalt just yet. If I'm not digging the XTB gestalt, I can still move it used at a fair price for someone to appreciate at a negligible loss.

@@Posit_Zero_Blue I can't remember exactly what I paid for all 5 bots but I'm thinking it was about $330 give or take a few $$. I started off buying the first 2 because a guy wanted to get rid of them and I think he sold the pair for $80. Then I added the next two for around $70 each but I bought during an ebay promotion and I think I save about $10 making them each about $65. Then I got MMaster on sale from through bababobo for about $112ish. So if he got them like I did, he would be losing about $50 to $60 after shipping and losing his total investment of the upgrade. So I think that's not a terrible ripoff to either person if you want the set. It's a nice set but the carbots are too short but they look great, the best IMO because they're beefy not tall and lanky but they should be tall and beefy imo. I'm fine with the xtb being my vehicle modes because I think they are the nicest vehicles of all 3 sets but instead of paying $180ish+ for the trailer, I've decided to get the g2 set from dx9 and complete my fanstoys set of g1.

Be nicer if the extra faces had more paint detail on them. I mean how hard was it to paint the inside of the mouth, I'm sure the back of the mouth is not purple but should be black...

I have a huge amount of respect for those who like "toon accuracy" in the design of the figures they buy. It's pretty cool when it looks like the figure just hopped out of your tv and onto your shelf. But for me, I think that if the cartoonists were not on a small budget and rushed we would have seen MUCH more detail in the 'bots we all love. All kinds of mechanical details would have been present to give more of a realistic appearance. The new mp+ figures from takara are nice, but the only difference is less paint apps and details. I prefer the first mps, with reprolabels for more detail. This Menasaur is waaaaay too plain imo. The legs drive me crazy, zero detail. I like what jinbao (can't remember which company they ko'd) did for Bruticus, lots of detail, a little stylized, but when you look at the figures you know exactly who they are.

I'm also not huge on the toon aesthetic. I have the 1st run XTB Stunticons and they are more in keeping with the original MP cars. Not getting the trailer, as I never intended to combine them. Definitely agree that the Menasor looks WAY too toon, and I think the arm add-ons look ridiculous.

Combiners are my favorite sub group, but I'm torn on these MP Menasors. I agree with you in that Menasor is an Iconic Combiner. But damn does he looks the worst out of all the Combiners, IMO. I think the aesthetic appeal that the other MP combiners have over Menasor (thus far, waiting to see what Fans Toys version looks like) is that it really looks like 5 robots came together to make a bigger robot. You can see the individual Aerial bots in Superion (via colors, and jet kibble) same with Constructor and Bruticus, you can see Mixmaster, Scrapper, Vortex, Brawl, etc. I think Menasor has some good things going for him, like the shoulder pads, sword, and the car arms, but as others have mentioned, those legs of his leave much to be desired detail wise. Also the MP Menasors have that almost "Big Robot cosplaying with cars on his arms and legs" look to me. But its based off the Toon source material so its accurate. But I think that there can be a way to pay homage to the source material while giving it a modern day look. Maybe through more paint or sculpted detail on the lower legs or something. Anyway, blah, blah great video and I still want to get a MP Menasor haha!

I'm happy I didn't go with this Menasor. I like the option but the price for it all is a non-starter. If I ever decide to drop any more money on a Menasor beyond my DX9 Menasor(s) it'll be for FansToys.

I don't like any version of Menasor Masterpiece. It's the worst combiner ever. G1 is very nice. None looks like G1.

Idk, G1 Menasor was awful imo. Super tiny compared to the other combiners almost laughably puny. Maybe MMC will do him in the same style as their Bruticus.

Menasor was never my favorite but he is iconic in the Transformer world. Not sure he warrants 4 version in the MP new bigger scale though. Can not believe how bad Hasbro did with Menasor in combiner wars maybe that is why so many 3p companies are making this

@@GibDozer1 I agree, Menasor G1 is the smallest of the combiners, but I meant that none of the transformations of the masterpiece versions look like the G1 version, especially the arms and legs. In G1 the cars form the arms and legs, but in all the masterpiece versions I have seen so far, the arms and legs are formed by the Motormaster trailer and the cars are just detail.

@@leonardocarvalho5694 I think in the cartoon the trailer formed the legs and the cars just sat on the back. I actually agree with you in preferring the toy design of Menasor though. I can't believe neither DX9 or XTB made it optional to swivel the shins around so the cars face forward. That seems like a better option than the ridiculously unimaginative base mode.
