I turn it up to 700-750 F to solder EC5 connectors. Mine came with 5 tips. Great low budget solution. Nice video.

@@arkansasrcnewbie Actually the issue with this unit is that the tip sizes are too thin. I think a nice fat chisel head would hold the heat and make soldering large gauge wire faster. It's a struggle to solder ESC or Battery connectors with the tips mine came with. I run closer to 800-840ish F to do the job without melting the plastic. I have some new tips on order that has some beef to them. Overall I agree this is a good budget solution.

You are very welcome, thanks for the awesome comment. I just used this thing for a whole lot of soldiering and I absolutely love it!! Downside is the tip is a little small for bigger jobs, but you can buy different ones. 😉

Great video, man. Fellow Arkansan here in the market for a soldering iron for guitar and amplifier electronics. Looks like it's been about 8 months since you posted this video, any additional thoughts about it since then?

Hey brother, sorry it took so long to respond. Just got back off vacation lol, but regarding the iron man, it's a beast and the only thing I would say is i have to Crank it up for the real tiny stuff. Not really an issue but the point is so fine it requires more heat. Other then that it is a solid performer. Thanks and good luck WOO PIG!
