well there is the Hardcell and Diamond class which fit in the size range for epic ships, tbh I feel like the C-9979 lander is probably the most iconic design they could pick for a separatist epic ship though.

Never pegged the hardcell as a ship used in battle. It had weapons to protect itself, but never thought of it as an actual battleship.

Some details of the Huge Ship Conversion Kit overlooked in the video: - 2 new plastic bases . - All 5 huge ships from 1.0 converted with cards/cardboard . - Each huge ship will have cards/cardboard for its original faction and one prequel/sequel faction so all factions can play. The cross-faction huge ships applies to the reprints as well as the Conversion Kit I believe.

I believe during FFG panel Q&A, it was stated that the existing ships would be usable in multiple factions, such that each faction will immediately have access to at least one huge ship. I could see Raider being used by First Order, Republic CR90, Resistance GR-75, perhaps C-ROC or Gonzati for Separatists.

They announced a Conversion Kit for Huge ships, yes. All five original ships, each in more than one faction to cover the prequels/sequels, with two of the new bases.

Good, I really didn't feel like re buying those ships. I mean, it'll probably be around $100 anyway, but that's the price of a Raider on its own.

There is one key detail that was missed, and various additional related bits posted in the reddit by FFG. So here goes: To start, expecting two SKUs. FFG poster said there would be one conversion kit which will cover all 5 ships and all 7 factions. Then the epic battles product, which covers the multiplayer rules and tools. Back to that conversion kit, it will provide 'two conversions' for each of the 5 ships... one conversion will be for the ship's 1e faction, and the second will be for one of the 4 new factions. So right out the gate here, Rebels and Empire will have 2 options again, Scum will have 1, and each of the Republic, CIS, Resistance and FO will have 1 (one of them will get 2, b/c math). They did confirm during the panel that new huge ships will eventually come (especially for the new factions), but that is much later. And... I think that about covers it. I am looking forward to it and getting more use out of all my huge ships.

I could see them just designing brand new ships for the resistance and first order much like they did with the raider. The raider design was one of the most memorable moments in the development of xwing for Alex Davy.

Well damn, if this turns out to be good I might have to upgrade after all... The epic ships are a big part of why I play X-wing, so I didn't want to invest in 2.0 and pay a lot of money to play incomplete games. But if the new mechanics are awesome I will have to get it. Hoping for true multiplayer scenarios. I'd love for multiple factions competing for a common resource or something, hopefully with mechanics that allow temporary alliances. Having the rebels team up with some bounty hunters to defeat the empire, only to have them switch sides when it becomes more profitable. Stuff like that would be awesome!

Longtime listener, firsttime commenter: One Star Wars game that is missing is a full-scale skirmish game. We have Xwing and then the full scale space battle of Armada, and we have Legion/Imperial Assault (although I prefer the old Star Wars Miniatures by WOTC) but no game for big battles like Geonosis or Hoth with AT-ATs and the like. I fully reckon Fantasy Flight should rejig their Discwars game for Star Wars. I would buy that in a heart beat! That would be an easy way to get fullscale battles. You can easily have multi factions straightaway too. What are your thoughts and how do I tell Fantasy Flight my brilliant idea?

Perhaps a separate squadron dial? I imagine the movements you can do like this will be limited. You will probably have straights and banks and perhaps some turns. That's enough to move your squadrons into position and then they can break off into battle with their own manoeuvre dials.

They are similar to the C-Roc. They have more of a support role, not so much offensive capability. But since scum doesn't have a corvette type ship yet they start with that one...
