Question - Killer triggers off hull; right? So, therefore, wouldn't the ability as written trigger against every ship with 2 hull base regardless of shields?

Yes, that would be how it works based on the wording. That means that a majority of 2-pointers are easy targets for killer. Contrail, hobbie, the other z-95s, etc.

That might position Killer in an interesting spot in the meta then, especially since there are a lot of 2-point pilots in 2 hull ships.

So, looking at killer it looks like that their ability also works on any attack, so that would include missles, torpedoes and even snap shot. that's pretty funny. In fact killer would be pretty deadly against other headhunters and similar ships because if you can put plasma torpedoes on them and as @SmolderingShine pointed out in the comments, killer would probably automatically get the extra die, so you would be shooting with 4 attack dice and a free shield hit if it connects. Seems like the perfect 2 point ship counter honestly.

I think Drift has too high of a ceiling to be the 2pt ship. Sure it requires some setup; but he can give buffs to several other ships. That seems too powerful compared to the other 2pt ships in the game. Killer and Stub seem on par with Blount and Ndru, where that ship (and only that ship) gets an extra die.

The republuc is so strong right now, getting anotger 2 point ship is going to be so powerful. Resistance and first order need more ships to have as many options as the other factions.

Drift is pretty much Howlrunner but harder to trigger, so I would expect 3 points (one point less than Howl) if he doesnt get a huge loadout

I think, given it's likely there will be a relevant pilot at 2 points in this pack, then having one will be useful, meta-wise. But it's hard to say right now if a pack of 2 is good value.
