It's really inspiring to see how much you've learned over the past few years and how your techniques have developed. I'm feeling very encouraged to start a new sketchbook. I ❤ your style of narration and really appreciate all the art supply videos, especially the swatches! Thank you Helen!!!

I truly enjoy watching your videos. You've inspired me to take up watercolor painting in a more loose, organic style which has been such fun and relaxing. Thank you for sharing with us ☺ I've been thinking of visiting Cornwall after seeing the stunning landscapes in the area! Love from New York City!

I remember so many of those fabulous sketches from your videos. What an accomplishment! I have the exact same sketchbook, even the colour 😊. I'm probably just less than half way through, so who knows when it will get finished. Anyhoo, thanks for another calming and enjoyable vid x

Lovely - I love my Art Creations sketchbooks. They're cheap but there is something about the paper that makes mixed media so enjoyable. Love your art and your videos. 💕

Hi Helen! I have huge admiration for your lovely work in your sketch book. I would frame many of the sketches in there. Your work in soft pastels is amazing! And I am always impressed by your liberal, worry-less way of your usage of the Caran d’Ache Luminance pencils in your sketchbook (!) I have a set of Luminance, but I don’t dare to use them yet, I consider them my prized possession, too precious for anything else but be admired in their box. How silly is that?! Anyway, sending you much love from California ❤

I loved your dog when you did it. Still love it now. I forgot that was your first time using soft pastels! I really need to spend some more time using my smaller Talens sketchbooks. I have an A6 and a 12cm square one I've barely touched. My A5 is about a third of the way used. I've never worked square before but thought I'd give it a try since I like taking square photos, but for whatever reason I just haven't used it. Too many choices I think and that thick papered 8x10 S&B Beta keeps grabbing my attention first. My precious 😂

Hullo Helen, I enjoyed seeing this flip through! I think the pup was my favorite part. You created some truly lovely landscape pieces. I stopped working in sketchbooks as the last one I used was cut into pieces because I was showing it about and I kept getting asked if I had done any larger pieces from the sketch works? Or perhaps redid them on better paper? I ended up just cutting them out of the book! I don’t believe that I have done any sketchbook work in quite a while. I usually just grab a loose sheet of cut paper or pull a sheet from a pad of paper if I need to work in a standard size. Now, I have purchased some 8x20 inch sheet pads of Magnani 1404 watercolor paper from Italy, I have the 3 surfaces offered at Jerry’s Artarama. I decided that I wanted the larger size as I had good success with the smaller 5.1x14.9 inch blocks I got of the Baohong brand paper! The long panorama paper is quite fun to fill up! I believe that you would have a grand time with the longer landscape paper working on the seascapes that I see in your sketchbook and this video! I have been very happy with the progress I have made. I hope that you look into working with a long n skinny sheet or block/pad! Truly amazing work, thank you for sharing it!

I really want to love these sketchbooks, but the paper is just not for me. :( Maybe I was too heavy handed with the mediums I used, but even some low tack washi tape tore up the paper, and that was with a heat gun too to try and ease it off the paper.
@helencryer4 сағат бұрын
Art materials are quite a subjective thing - I don't like quite a few things that others do. It's not the best paper, but I just like the texture of it, and relatively low cost, plus it takes most things I throw at it quite well, including my washi tape. It doesn't feel precious in any way, so I relax and enjoy.

Why did you skip so fast over 27/7/23 which I thought was very elegant albeit slightly uncharacteristic?

It was unintentional. Thanks!
