X32/M32: How to Connect 2 Consoles via AES50 for more channels

what an awesome tutorial. ive thought of something very close to this idea using 2 mixers simultaneously together for more inputs. only difference is i just used the Aes50 instead of the ultranet routing.

Can I use AES of a Midas M32 to a Micro Clock MKIII? Currently I use the USB expansion card to my computer. I’m afraid if I switch it out with a ADAT expansion card for wordclock I won’t have a way to have the Midas connect back to the computer via usb.

Hi Daniel, I have a question. Is there a way of sending MIDI commands through WIFI to the mixer? I was wondering because, as far as I know, the only way to send MIDI commands wirelessly is through Bluetooth, but because of range limitations I thought if there is a way to do it by WIFI or LAN. Do You have any experience in it? Thank You for all the content You are making ;)

I don't use any midi controllers with the mixer but yes you should be able to do so through ethernet. If you have something like the behringer x touch and you connect it to the same router or network that the mixer is on, you can control the mixer that way. I never tried to do that wirelessly but i suppose that if it's on the same network then it should probably work

Hi Daniël, i have an X32 with 3 stageboxes SD8 --> SD16 --> SD8, giving me 32 inputs and 24 outputs (output switches on SD set tot 1-8, 9-16 and 17-24), how can i use the outputs 17-24? (i use also all of the P16 channels for in-ear montoring)

You have the most flexibility in the OUT page and in the ULTRANET page but if you're using all of them you can still assign the AES50 outputs to direct out from channels, auxes, card(tracks from your computer)

@Danny Libeert if bus 9 is assigned to output 9 int the OUT page Go to the AES50 page and assign AES50 17-24 to User out 1-8 Go to the user out page and assign the last output in that block (output 8) to Out 9 And don't forget to assign the rest of the outputs (1-7) because if you don't assign them you won't have any signal on them

Yes if you're sharing the same inputs with both mixers you have 16 busses on each mixer for a total of 32 busses that can use all the same input channels

We have a venue we will be playing that has an X32 Console FOH and an S32 on stage via AES A. We rehearse with an X32 console and 2 S16's, one S16 for 12 drum inputs, and one S16 for guitars, bass, vox, and also 16 channels on the P16's. At the venue we will bring our 2 S16's, P16's. How do we connect/route/configure our 2 stage boxes to the house S32 without having to run our AES Cable to FOH as AES B?

So you're only using 1 console and you don't want to use the house stagebox but your own stageboxes In that case just unplug the AES50 cable from the s32 and plug it into your s16 and everything else would be like your normal rehearsal setup The AES50 carries only 48 channels at the same time so if you try to connect your stageboxes to the s32 and that is connected only to the A port you'll only be able to use one of your s16 boxes Because the console will consider the s32 inputs as AES50 1-32 and the xlr inputs of the s16 that is directly connected to the s32 as AES50 33-48 You will not be able to take anything or send anything to the second s16 So you can either connect 3 s16 boxes together or 1 s32 and 1 s16 together as long as the total count is 48

If you want to check your faders, knobs, buttons, leds you can press and hold the first 4 buttons next to the screen and then power on the console. It will go into surface test mode
