Can you do or have you done a video about multi-tracking on the x32, like in a studio? For instance, I record scratch guitars and vocals in and now I want to hear that coming out while I record drums in. I’ve looked around and can’t find a video on how to set that up. Most videos are recording all 32 in for virtual sound check. Thank you and I’ve enjoyed all the videos I’ve watched on the x32.

Yeah, this is a great suggestion. I have done it plenty of times, but not made a video about this specifically. If you think about the general ideas needed you would record your scratch tracks and do some basic mixing into your master bus which then get routed back into the console to be heard only in the monitors. This concept is similar to when we mix a livestream in the DAW in a live environment and send it back to the console. I have a video a out that which might be helpful before I can make a specific one to a studio environment. This is the link to that video, but ai will look to make a studio version as soon as I can. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaG9oaaFlNFnh9U

@@AllamHouse awesome brother, I’ll check that out! Thank you... if it’s the same concept, no need to make a separate video for one person. I appreciate the reply and the tutorials.

Man this is so inspirational! Thanks for posting this? Are you in Orlando? I would love to watch you play some shout piano! Or do you have any tutorials on shouting chords? I love the progressions you all were doing!!!

I am wanting to use the monitor section with some studio monitors but I want it separated from the LR Bus so that I can use a mic in my practice room to a control room located in another room. What would be the best way to go about that? I know I could just use an output and create a bus, but I was wanting to use the monitor controls to control my studio monitors in the control room.

There are a few options you can take advantage of depending on the actual specifics of your setup. First, your monitors (when connected to the monitor output will provide you the Mono, Solo and Dim features. In the monitor section you can choose to change the specific source for the monitor output, but there are not many options. As you mentioned you can create a Bus and then solo that Bus and it will be heard in the monitors. You could also use your mic as a talkback mic (if not EQ and Comp is needed) and you can route that mic specifically to specific Buses that could send to another room. You can also source an input channel with the TB mic and send that with channel strip options like any other input. If you need further assistance you can fill out the contact card on my website and we can schedule some time for a call. sound.AllamHouse.com

Is there a way to route one of the Stereo Mix busses (that go to the IEM of another musician) to the monitor out, meaning the headphone out internally in particular? I know it is possible when soloing, but I wanted it routed permanently to the headphone out! (both of them, since they are couple anyway, left and right side of the board).

There is a non-traditional way to do it, but it will include some rather oddball connections. Under normal usage you can only use the Solo feature (as you mentioned), but you cannot hardcode the routing to send a MixBUS into the headphones permanently. If you are daring and want to live life on the edge of sanity you can find the monitor section of the console and click the view button. The screen will bring up some settings and there you will see that you can have the headphone default source be various versions of the Mains, but there is an option for AUX 5/6. What you could do is route your IEM to go to AUX OUT 5/6 and then connect a cable to have AUX 5/6 plug into AUX In 5/6. Effectively this is an analog routing of your output back into your input which can then be monitored by default through the headphones. Being that this is the most thought I have given to this setup you might be able to use some fancy routing in the USER section to do this without cables, but I have not explored that and I'll have to leave that up to you to experiment.

New to audio and when learning to pink noise I think I accidentally moved buttons on the monitor section when I was trying to generate the link noise, does the monitor section affect the FOH? And how can I set this section to its default settings , Tia
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 8 ай бұрын
Pink noise is usually pushed to a BUS which is turn fed into FOH to be heard through your PA. You can go into the monitor section and turn off the pink noise generator. Also, you can de-select it from any BUS it might be linked to. There is no “reset” button for the monitor section so you would need to just backtrack your settings, but the above steps should remove the pink noise from being heard in FOH. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Which firmware version is on that X32? Is it the latest or is it pretty old? My screen looks nothing like that.

What about if we use a channel that is for talk back and is not inyo LR bus, I want to know and hear what thar talk back channels is saying, I tried LR +MC and nothing come out please
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 7 ай бұрын
Are you trying to get that talkback mic into the house speakers or just hear it in the headphones? In the monitor section you can select which Buses the talkback mic gets routed into. You then have the ability on the console to solo one of those Buses to hear the TB mic in your headphones at the console. Also, you can use the Routing > User In section to build some custom mapping and route the TB mic (either internal or external) into a channel and then have access to the channel strip features and treat it like any other input on the console.

Find the "Monitor" section on the console (full-size it is in the top right) and click the view button. Then go to the Talkback A and you can see options in the top right of the screen for buses to select to route the talkback mic to. You also have the same options for talkback B in case you want those to be different.
