Thanks for all your hard work. I understand routing and your video explains it very well. it's all logical. I think your are doing a great job for beginners and Pro's. The user program is useful if you want to route things not by 4 or 8. it lets you separate them instead of having to change all 4 or 8 at a time. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for using the M32-Edit software, its pretty much where I live. We have the M32c and 2 of the DL16's. The only advantage to have 2 -DL16's instead of 1-DL32 is redundancy in case one breaks...also there is an extra Ultranet output, so you don't hit your head on the five wedge limit, also you can put them in different locations on the stage and get less cable clutter. But that is not important. We use the Ultranet for our Turbosound monitors, and have been doing so for some time. The Ultranet has a more 3D sound image than just xlr. We are going to start using for the mains as well, hoping for the same result, plus that modeling looks interesting. What I am curious about is I noticed you have your outs post fader, but your ultranet is father up the chain. I am experimenting with different point to intercept. I like using the bus master output fader as the fader for a wedge. Since they are all addressable you can daisy chain the Ethercon cable (up to 5 before latency starts to be a problem). So we have had one run with five. Last Sunday we added another wedge for the keyboard player and we had to use an different setup for him. Actually I just tapped off of his keyboard DI and that worked, not ideal but it worked. Starting next Sunday we should have all six wedges and the two mains on the ultranet assigned to the Main LR and six busses of monitoring. (which works out to four on each run of Ethercon, one run from each DL16_) My question is what tap point would you recommend for those bus monitors that feed a wedge and why?

There are plenty of videos showing routing from the console surface. Google "X32 routing" and you will find those. There is also the user manual.

Great video. Would it be possible for you to do practical examples with setting up a complete p.a system with out fills, delay stack, front fill etc. combining outputs from the console as well a outputs from the desk. I tried using aux out for a delay stack behind the mixer the other day only to find there's no delay compensation on aux outs. Many thanks for your hard work

You mean output delays. Delay compensation is for processing. Yes, output delays are only available for the 16 outputs of the OUT page There's only a polarity switch on the Aux out page and you cannot assign a 1/4 inch aux out to an output from the OUT page unfortunately that's a limitation of the console. For using different outputs from different places i recommend you watch my video about user routing and the one about hardware inserts with the m32c. That way you'll have a better understanding of routing And regarding the pa setup I'm going soon to a youth conference for my church and I'm bringing my m32c with a dl32 stagebox there, so if i have enough time to film what I'm doing while I'm setting stuff up, I'll make a video about it

Hey daniel, so im planning to get ah digital stage box to use it for more inputs and to run IEM im just a bit confuse where to rout for IEM is it aes50 out correct?

By default the stage box will give you outputs 1-16 from the out page But if you are using all of them you can assign the aes50 outputs to ultranet and assign those in the ultranet page

Hi, How can you send the entire signal from LR Main->to RCA stereo? I ask you this because a lot recording stuf has RCA input-output, and most of the want the entire signal throw RCA Thank in advance!

The rca connectors are just Aux 5 and 6 So you can go to the Routing menu->Aux Out page-> assign Aux 5 to main L and aux 6 to main R And you'll have the main LR coming out of the rca jacks

I talked about it in the video about connecting 2 consoles together. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2KrlHeqeJdretk But basically you wanna select user in 1-6 for the aux remap and go to the user in page and assign the inputs 1-6 to whatever AES50 channel the auxes are coming on from the other console. So if you assign AES50 outputs 41-48 to Auxins/TB on the first console you would do aux remap to be user in 1-6 on the second console and patch user inputs 1-6 to AES50 41-46 this way you can get auxes from one console to another

Ola! uso uma Midas DL32 + X32, Conexão AES_EBU 15-16 da DL32 para o processado. Precisei de mais uma via de fone, ao routear o BUS 15 para via de fone o áudio parou no lado L. Fiz o teste no 16, e a mesma coisa. Preciso routear o LRC pelo AES-EBU e deixar os BUS livre para mix bus. Saberia me ajudar?

The stage box doesn't give you more channels. If you want more channels you need another console

This means the card outputs were assigned to fx returns they should be assigned to local or AES50 if you're using a stage box

Hello Daniel, I need your expertise, I am the drummer and I have an X32 compact at my hybrid drums, i am mixing card inputs from a VST, and mic inputs for cymbal overheads, hi-hats, and splashes. My Compact is connected to AES-B port on my S16 at the drums which is connected from port A to another S16 in port B, from there the second, (or first in line) S16 is connected to our Full size FOH X32 via port A. I have success routing my Drum mix-busses 1-8 to FOH X32 via AES-A 17-24 to individual input channels at FOH Mixer. My problem is I cannot seem to route the drum X32 outputs of mixbus 9,10 or 11,12 for overheads in the same exact way to the FOH Mixer, I have tried all of the routing scenarios I can think of. I have the latest version, 4.09 on both mixers and User Routing does not seem to help.???

Routing-> card assign 25-32 to local 25-32 if you're plugged in to the back of the mixer or AES50 25-32 if you're using a stagebox box or you can assign it to user out 25-32 and do it there

I'm still a bit confused with the card In and Out Settings in combination with a daw and the playback...i got it to work but it feels like i fixed it accidently. I just mean that it's not very intuitive and ti can take some time when not done daily

If you keep in mind, that you have to switch between rec / play, it isn't all that hard - if you want to playback something from the card and get it out of the card again, it get's really sketchy 😊That's only possible with a workaround and not with all 32 channels. I sometimes playback a recording from the X-live / or PC, mix it on the desk and put out the master via card into the daw again. I use user routing for the input AND the card - that way I only have to change things in one place and the rest is always congruent. Opinions differ there.. some select the input on the channel itself, because it's quick and easy for a live setup. I prefer user routing, because I use the X-Live card on almost every show.

Yes you go to the xlr page in the routing menu Since you only have 8 xlr outputs on the mr18 you're gonna assign xlr 1-8 to whatever you want and this is independent from the dl32 outputs

Route the MAIN LR mix to the local outputs (AUX OUT or XLR out) of the console.

You may need to give the camera guy audio or maybe the amps for the pa are not near the stage but closer to the console or maybe you have speakers in different room... there's a lot of reasons to use the local xlr even if you're using a stagebox

@mosesngatiah3314 you have your outputs on both anyway. Master has nothing to do with the outputs, it's on to sync the digital connection between the devices

You go to the routing menu->ultranet and you assign 2 ultranet outputs to be a direct out from the 2 channels that the synth is coming into

Hi Daniel, may I make a request? Can you make a short video that shows only three things: 1. How to make the vocal on CH1 come out of the mains L/R. 2. How to make the vocal on CH 1 come out Monitor 1. 3. How to add reverb to the vocal coming out of the Mains LR, and add reverb to the vocal coming out of Monitor 1. This basic routing is what most people seek assistance for. And there isn't any info that doesn't involve wading through all the other possibilities. Thanks!

You should show all this on the board itself. Lots of people own these boards, NOT lots of people use a pc with them. These videos are way LESS helpful than showing on THE BOARD

And there are a lot fo people who use these consoles but who don't own the board and train/prep scenes offline with the software, or set up scenes with the PC or the app, even when they are next to the board. Using the EDIT software or MS is way faster than doing it on the console.
