This is the best, most practical video I have seen on this product. 3 guys standing around chatting about how it works in a real world situation. Thank you so much!

You guys are legends. I have to use one of these as a one-off mixing for a band and this helped immensely.

Thanks so much for this...we just bought one of these for our school...and were quite confused given previous experience with just analog traditional mixers. Your video answered a lot of questions we had...and also did well to steadily explain things...with real world examples. It makes me think all companies should actually produce videos like this as their 'manuals' because videos like these are far easier to follow. Having the people alongside asking new user questions was also very helpful. Great job to you all!

Thanks Matthew!!! I am the voice in this video. Brent asked me to do the training on his first X32 install since I was familiar with it and would allow him to video. I agree the people there to ask questions is a very important thing. I tried to do general trainings and although it helps, all it really did was convince people that what they really need is training at their facility. Best wishes for your school!!!

Great demonstration, thank you. With the latest firmware update you can also see 16 inputs across all the faders if you wish, for less page swapping whilst mixing

Why did you add complexity associated with remapping to Channel 17? Really wish you had covered assigning effects to a channel.

This was a very great training. Will ask if you could do a video of connecting the mics and speakers to the mixers; the position of connections
@DJPMackin6 жыл бұрын
Would be great if you could also do a video for the EFFECTS features.

When gaining mics, you should avoid to crank it up too much. If you want clear signal and not having problems later, you need to build a good foundation and that all start with good gain. You want to average at -18db. It's important to know that those are Peak meters, not RMS. So take your time to get even gain all across the board and everything will go smooth.

@fincaman210 жыл бұрын
To start from scratch initialize the desk it takes seconds and you know you haven't missed anything. It doesn't wipe scenes so you keep your previous setups
@paleeese7 жыл бұрын
Good words! Also could initialize and build a blank scene with your personal starting preferences. For instance, I like to get rid of the icons on the scribble strips so my old eyes can see the print larger.

Great video. I did not see you demonstrate that if you press two bus select buttons on left side of the board (ex. 1-8 and 9-16) simultaneously, the board will show 1-8 on the first set of sliders and 9-16 on the second set of sliders. Also on some small analog boards that had additional 1/4 inch inputs, They were actually TRS 1/4 inputs and can be converted to XLR using an adapter. The line was also switchable between low and high impedance therefore allowing you to connect additional mics. Does the X32 Producer have this option?
@lbrentevans6 жыл бұрын
It does, at least in the more recent firmware. At the time this video was made I do not believe the firmware had that option.

Thx for video. Its really helpful. My question is, when i set monitoring mix on bus 1, i can't hear effects on it. How can i get channels that i want in monitor on bus 1 with internal effects like reverb and delay (bus 14 and 15) ?

Can anyone help me please .. Ive got an x32 compact mixer . Im using it with Abelton Live . Can i use the outputs channel 17-32 on my x32 ?. When i select channel output 32 in abelton ie i get no signal on the x32 mixer . im doing something wrong..
@mrufino15 жыл бұрын
KAIVILI I don't know if you figured this out yet, but set the input block for 17-24 to card 17-24, input block 25-32 to card 25-32, then in ableton assign channels to those outputs in ableton. I don't use ableton but in other daw when you select your sound card the x32 shows up as 32 in 32 out. By the way, Channel 17-24 doesn't have to have card 17-24, you can assign the input blocks any way you want. But my example was answering it the way you asked. Hopefully I made sense... One thing that is a little tricky with the card is the way it is labeled- outputs mean what you are sending TO the card outputs to go to your computer, but you can also set card inputs to board inputs, which is your ableton example (computer back to board). The x-live card has a mode that allows you to switch between recording routing and playback routing, so you can record all 32 channels to your computer, then have card 1-32 set as playback inputs and hear those back through the board.

Comment at 5:25 you would use this mode to link a bus to a DCA
@paleeese8 жыл бұрын
Not sure if this is a question but here goes just in case. Short answer, YES. You CAN assign and control any fader by assigning to a DCA group. Question; Why would you assign a bus master to a DCA? (unusual request) Answer; Convenience! If you need move control to a more convenient location, or need to fade multiple bus masters simultaneously like in broadcast and theatre applications. I see your comment was a year ago. You probably have the answer by now but thought it would be good for the benefit of others.
