Setting up EQ presets would be awesome Chad. I'm new on the Mixer and don't know how to set up a preset so different vocalists can use the same mic. Can you show me or do a video? Using Berhinger X32

Hey man, thanks for the comment. I'll look into doing a preset video sometime in the future. One word of caution - presets are great but can cause people to rely on them rather than using their ears. Great tool but just try not to be overly reliant on them :) Thanks for watching! -Chad

+Ascension Worship awesome thanks for the advice! I basically work on a desk that's EQ'd by someone who's away in university a lot so we see him vey little. So any issues are quite stressful. Hopeful using presets can be useful so I don't initially configure the EQ for the worse if you get me.

Gotcha. After this series we're in right now, I'll look into making a video for you. Until then, a good suggestion for you: any time I experiment with an EQ, if I'm not 100% sure I can make it better, I always start by copying the setting that's already there. - Hit the "view" button on the EQ for the channel you're working with. - With the EQ settings on the screen, press the "Utility" button. - The 5th encoder gives the option to Copy. Click that. Now those settings are temporarily copied. - Play with the EQ - If you're not happy with the changes you made, hit "Utility" and click the 6th encoder to paste the original EQ back on. Now you're back where you started. Hope this helps until I can get a video out for you. Thanks for the suggestions! -Chad

Not sure if you’ll read this, since your video is old. Lately I’ve been trying to fix a “problem” I have on my x32. It seems that when I mute my drums DCA, it mutes the drums on the P16s. Is there a way to fix this? In other words, for me to mute all DCAs (not individual channels), so the band can hear themselves on the p16s, but, I don’t hear them through the speakers.

The easiest answer to this is to not mute the DCA but rather pull it all the way down. If you don’t want to do that, if the drums are sending to a pre-fade mix for the P16, I’m 90% sure you could go to the setup menu and disengage the option for hard mute DCAs. I believe this will only mute channels going to post-fade mixes. I personally do not like this option but choose for yourself :)

I’m extremely late to this (hope you’re still responding to comments). I currently have a 31 bandEQ on my pastor’s channel and I want to also use a DEESSER on him. I sent my pastor’s channel to a mono subgroup; assigned the subgroup to the STEREO BUS; installed the Deesser on the subgroup. Yet, I hear as if the Deesser isn’t even active (I already checked that it is active and I even see the sibilance gain reduction but hear no difference). Why do you think this might be? I use an x32.

By using a subgroup, you are sending level to the De-esser after your channel fader. You may not be sending a hot enough signal for the de-esser to activate. You may want to swap your inserts around and insert the de-esser on the channels and insert the EQ on the bus if you’d like to use both.

@@ItzTooSik Graphic EQs don’t an audio threshold that must be hit to work so you should be fine in that regard.

I’m just now finding this channel and I love it! You do an awesome job explaining things. I do have a question about setting up a stereo iem. We have a x32 w/digital snake but we get our mix from a headphone amp (I think is the way it’s setup) any advice?

Yes and no. There’s a tap point selector but it can’t be different for every bus like on the X32. Generally, this should be fine but it’s just a little different. Great question. Thanks for watching and commenting! -Chad

@@kasonkedersha579 It’s very basic but yes, there is an entirely separate EQ option available for sends on the Wing. I don’t have one in front of me right now but I think it’s a basic 3-band EQ.

@@kasonkedersha579 absolutely. Every bus on the wing is stereo (assuming it’s patched to 2 outputs). There is a separate pan knob for each bus :)

@@AWTechTuesday yes.. I think i'm missing some of the stuff before this video.. actually what I'm trying to do is, I have a mic on input channel 1. And I'm using mixbus1 for a headphone mix. When I adjust the fader on channel 1, i don't hear the volume of the microphone increase in the headphone mixbus1. But i hear it increase in my speaker, which is connected to main out L , R. Do you happen to know why i can't hear the change in volume in my headphone mix?

Alphonso Desselle Sounds like you have the mic set to pre-fade going to the mix 1. To adjust the mix going to the headphones, you’d need to hit sends-on-fader and make adjustments to that mix. Check out this video for more info - m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJLLh3WdrN9_bck

But yes on the channel I had it set to postEq instead of Post Fader.. that fixed it for me.. I think i could've done in another place.. but i'm not sure where.. I will check out the video you sent. but thanks for the help!
