Looks good. I would have made the top first. Cut to size and the added the trim. But that's me. You did a good job. It looks nice

Cool video. Thanks for sharing. I have a quick question. Now that this piece is four years old, have you had any issues with wood movement? The grain for the box is 90 degrees to the grain of the top. I have a request to build one similar, but am concerned about wood movement.
@X3WorkshopDesigns Жыл бұрын
Great question. No cracked boards or warping of any kind as of yet.

Looks awesome!! But I am brand new do next time can you tell me what you are doing and show at same time....

Yes. I'm in the process of editing another noodle board but in this case just a flat one instead of like the one I made. Thanks!

Does it hold well without using wood biscuits in-between the boards?
@X3WorkshopDesigns4 жыл бұрын
Yes it does. So long as the moisture content of your lumber is low, there should be minimal wood movement.

I see you used a Brad nailer over a finishing nailer or screws. How is it holding up?
@X3WorkshopDesigns4 жыл бұрын
It's holding up well. Keep in mind the brad nails are just temporary holds till the glue fully dries. That in addition that the inserts are also glued in place keeps everything together. Thanks. =)

Hello, what are the measurements of wood you used???
@X3WorkshopDesigns4 жыл бұрын
1x4x8 I believe. Thank s.

That is really really pretty! This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I hate those plain flat ones. I think the box simple box style is so much prettier and modern. Plus it can double as a food tray if needed. Thank you so much for a great video and all of the supplies you used too! (Are the boards 1x4 size?)

Thank you. Yes they are. Good eye! =)

Very nice! Love the finished product 👍 I am currently working on one with raised elements and went a slightly different route. I added a small strip to the bottom on either side to keep the cover off the elements. Just curious, how deep did you make the frame to keep from touching the elements underneath?
@X3WorkshopDesigns4 жыл бұрын
Terry Mason thank you! The client had a gas stovetop so the knobs were about 1” above the surface. If I remember correctly I made the cover 2” in height minus the 3/4” slats so it was 1 1/4”.

Mine is gas too,st time I see the handles in the side, I like it
@mikegman75023 жыл бұрын
Hey great job what did you finish it with? Shellac or just polyurethane?
@X3WorkshopDesigns3 жыл бұрын
I just use a water-based polyurethane. I just make sure to explain to the client it's not to be used as a cutting board.

I believe this was 30" Wide and 22 1/2" front to back. Thanks.
@TheRoflcopter842 жыл бұрын
That turned out really nice. A couple thoughts- have you considered using stop blocks to make cuts easy to repeat for batching? Have you tried countersunk screws and covering with dowels instead of nails for the outside corners?
